Good food but don't go if you're in a hurry...

Ordered the Crostini Misti for starters. Slices of heated Italian bread with mozarella, aubergines, meat, sausage etc., garnished with cabbage, salad and other vegetables. In norwegian, it was translated to Croutons - so not quite what I expected. A little bland, but overall fairly nice. However... read more

We have had some really wonderful food in Norway, but were getting a bit desperate for something other than Norwegian food, which even in the best restaurants is heavy on the meat and potatoes. Our daughter has been on Bergen on exchange for months and asked if we could have Italian food, so we went looking and found this nice... More

When we arrived they were playing Russian rap music which was a bit strange for a restaurant. The service was good and friendly. The pizza was a bit oily and the base a bit undercooked in my opinion but the seafood on the pizza was cooked really well. Prices are not expensive for Bergen but for me it didn't have... More

We were craving for Italian food after days in Norway and we ended up here. Greeted by two cute Italian waiters, we had mussels for appetizer, salmon tagliatelle, and a seafood risotto as main courses. The food is so big!! The appetizer has more than 50 mussels and the pastas are huge!! This is a bit too much for 2... More

We tried this restaurant after reading the Trip Advisor reviews and it was only a block from the First Hotel were we were staying. I'm glad we did. Great cosy little restaurant and we could hear the chef singing in Italian which we thought was a good sign (after a disastrous Italian in Narvik). We were not wrong, we shared... More

Found this restaurant strolling the back streets of Bergen....we were avoiding the tourist area. Shared a huge smoked salmon salad that had a selection of fruit and veggies decorating it. Companion had baked shrimp and calamari skewers. Arrived with grilled veggies and fingerling potatoes. Delicious huge portion. I had risotto al fruti di mare which plentiful with a delicious sauce.... More

Lovely little Italian place behind the Bryggen. Pizzas the size of dustbin lids and extremely tasty and thin (ie Italian style, not NYC style). Very good selection. We also had a carafe of wine. Prices slightly under what you'd normally expect to pay in Bergen. Very attentive waiter who spoke perfect Italian and English. Quick service and a plate full... More

We drop in for dinner with our friends, and I was expecting more, than I've got. Not so tasty pasta, not impressive pizza, but good wine.

I would recommend Leone di Mare for (1) the great service and (2) the generous portions and (3) value for money. Reading the previous reviews, we made a reservation for 2 on a weekday night and was greeted by an extremely friendly wait staff who was more than happy to get our names. We reached slightly earlier than our 6.30pm... More

Been here before, and just a previously, the food is excellent. It is only a small restaurant, but most certainly worthwhile going. The staff is very friendly.
