The food was lovely, worth every penny. The reindeer was out of this world! The wine was surprisingly good. Also great atmosphere. Highly recommended!atmosphere.recommend

We made a booking for this restaurant on the last day of our trip to Norway to finish off with a beautiful dinner. Our expectations were certainly met, we choose the triple menu which gave us 3 small starters, one main and 3 small desserts, a fabulous option as it felt like a little tasting plate. The waitress was very... More

The restaurant is not too big and has a cozy atmosphere. For starter we had the king crab and were pretty disappointed by the small amount we got for this price. The main course was way better. The cheese platter was also very good, and the waiter even wrote down the cheeses on a paper for us. Recommended.

We reserved 36 hours in advance for this tiny restaurant in a residential area, and parties were turned away throughout our stay. We can enthusiastically agree with the disappointed would-be diners: it is extraordinarily good food. The night we ate there, the menu featured one prix-fixe three course dinner, and the blackboard another. Both were excellent value. We both had... More

A 15 minute pleasant walk from the center tourist area of Bergen. Worth the walk. This is a small restuarnt with about 50 seats. They have a limited menu that does give you very good choices. Nice wine list too. All of the food is prepared with attention to flavor details and nice presentation. Flavoring is just right. Meat is done... More

This is my second review of Spisekroken. I am still giving the 5 - star review. Everything that I said in my previous review applies. This restaurant just might have the most creative a la carte menu in Norway. My complaints are the quantity of aquavit served with the house special starter plate has gone down to barely half a... You need reservations. There is a downstairs dining so make sure you ask to be upstairs. The downstairs has no atmosphere at all. They were kind enough to move us once a seat opened up. The food was OK. I had veal not the kind of veal that you would get in the United States. A bit fatty. My husband... More

Best meal in Norway. Good food, friendly service, elegant presentation and cosy ambience. No pretension. My partner enjoyed the Prix fixe 3 course daily special of a flavourful Duck appetiser sprinkled with greens,a hearty veal and potatoes main course & tasty coffee flavoured cake with berries dessert. He topped it off with home made beer and an excellent wine recommendation.... More

This is a small cafe within walking distance of the center city. It is informal but the food is presented and served as you would have in any upscale 5 star restaurant. The owner/chef has just published a cookbook that we are looking for in the US. Good for groups, family. Kids, ok but this is $$$$ menu. Dinner only.

We had a really good meal here at a good price (we paid as much for very average food elsewhere). It is a bit away from the main tourist area and that probably makes it better value for money.
