Great intimate atmosphere. Professional staff. Excellent food and wine recommendations. Highly recommended. In other words: place to be

We had a lovely meal here. We had the veal and the reindeer which were both delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for good quality Norwegian food at unusually reasonable (for Norway!) prices.. For a main course and a dessert it was about 350 NOK. Wine was as expensive as anywhere else in Norway, the cheapest... More

I was in bergen to visit a friend, she had told me she wanted to try this place but never had anyone to go with, boy am I glad we came here. We were in a cafe when we made the phone booking, the person on the end of the phone obviously heard me speaking English in the background as... More

This is a little gem in Bergen. What a great find. What they made up for being a small restaurant is a refined cooking. I had monk fish which blowed me away. Monk fish was fresh and tasted just like lobster. Great meal indeed.

We had an excellent dinner at this restaurant. My husband had reindeer, which was cooked to perfection. The appetizers were delicious as well as the desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My colleagues and I had a really good meal here during a visit to Bergen in the spring of 2014. The restaurant was a short walk from the city center and had great ambiance. The food was really, really good and surprisingly well-priced. I highly recommend spisekroken to anyone visiting Bergen!

I was happy that I could get a table there for a solo diner. I had an appetizer sampler with shots of aquavit to pair. The food was excellent. Three amuse-bouches out which one was soup. Then I had veal which was also very good. The waitress was a little nervous and had to check her notes to explain thing... More

A cosy and well-regarded Bergen restaurant but on the showing of our Monday night visit, the kitchen delivers a patchy performance. A cod main course was good: a veal main course (supposedly a speciality of the house) was poor, with chewy meat and a not greatly appealing appearance. Overall rather a disappointment, considering the high price of the meal.

Spisekroken is delightful small restaurant just out of the main tourist area of Bergen, it was a nice walk from our hotel on the wharf. There are two levels, we had a great table on the main level, right on the window. I think out of the two levels I would prefer the main level and not the basement, as... More
