This small restaurant is located a little out of the tourist area, but still very close to the center. Food was very good and by local prices is not very expensive. Norway has high prices, because they include 25% taxes and a living wage for food workers.

It really is very good food here. The combinations of ingredients and presentation was first class. Clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone into every dish which were all superb on delivery. I can't quite put my finger on why I couldn't thus nudge this from very good to excellent dining experience. I like those reviews where people... More

It is hard to eat at a restaurant like this after being on the Hurtigruten for days of overeating. That combine with colds that made us less hungry probably affected my review. I really loved the goats. The portion was huge and it was very tender. The wine was very reasonable and the pour was excellent. The place is very... More

Had both the 3 course menu and the testing menu. We loved both. Veal was perfect, so tender. No faults with the service either. They were busy, but they new what they were doing. Definitely worth the climb up the hill and leaving the touristy restaurants below by the docks.

The food was very good, but served a bit cold. Figure on $50 to $60 US a person, excluding drinks and dessert. (starter plus main course). Service was excellent. If your looking for quality, this is a good choice, worthy of four TripAdvisor stars.

We had a lovely meal in this slightly out-of-the-way restaurant. The place is tiny and cozy, maybe 8 tables. We especially liked the veal with wild garlic potatoes. A nice wine list.

I visited this place with my family and was not disappointed. Norway is expensive, so this restaurant actually represents great value for money. The quality of the food is excellent, everything looked and tasted amazing. A 3 course meal for a party of 3 set us back approx £150, though the quality more than justified the price. One of the... Not the $ priceclass that tripadvisor claims! Food is fine but we paid 279 NOK for a maincourse. Don't go there if you want to have a budget meal!

Spisekroken was a treat: the dishes are well prepared and flavorful, the menu interesting, and service good. This is a small restaurant so booking in advance is advisable. This is not a pricey fine dining establishment, just a small gem producing good food at reasonable prices.
