Good location, friendly staff

We ate here our first night in Bergen. The dinner size mussels are served in a huge black pot and were melt in your mouth good. They were served in more of a cream sauce than the usual wine and garlic. Very good. The salmon was also prepared well with the tastiest new potatoes I've had. Overall... read more

The best meal out we've had during ten days in Norway. A friendly, helpful hostess; a varied menu; excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere. Typically Norwegian prices. Glad we stopped by.

This is a traditional restaurant serving traditional meals and doing it very well indeed. You won't get the half-a-radish school of nouvelle cuisine, nor yet the larks-tonguies-in-aspic type of fancy dish. You will get proper, old fashioned, restaurant cooking with good local ingredients and attentive service. The ambience is excellent and the menu varied enough to make it fun to... More

To be honest, our experience of eating out in Norway has been limited but has lead us not to expect very much. However, B&S was a delight, offering excellently cooked Norwegian cuisine which was delicious from starter to desert. The fish soup was creamy with small prawns and excellent fish balls. You would think that moules marinieres was such a... More

A very popular restaurant serving both continental and purely Norwegian dishes at heart of city centre, by Bryggen! Norwegian prices, neither too expensive nor the McDonald prices. Claasy and rustic! If prices are not uncomfortale for you, then it is worth experiencing!

We cannot really find fault with this restaurant serving traditional Norwegian food by the harbour and the Bryggen. It's expensive but no more than most places in Norway. The halibut and wolffish main courses were excellent, and the chocolate dessert delicious. It's a busy place and I suspect it may be worth booking if you really want to try it.... More

It's Norway, it's expensive to the rest of Europeans, that's life. We went there for lunch and throughly enjoyed it. Good service, nice atmospehere. Reindeer was interesting and my wife's salmon was described as delicious. The fries were so so. Desserts nice. Would go again if visit Bergen again.

Good choice to try "local" fare such as salmon, venison, reindeer, and even whale. Great location, atmosphere, and service.

Good honest food at a reasonable price, considering it´s Norway. Friendly and serviceminded staff. Visited the restaurant with family on a cruise trip. They were really satisfied.
