Delicious food in an historic setting

Scallops for starters and a reindeer main course were delicious. A good choice of wines and very good attentive service. The building is a special environment and made it a special occasion. Not cheap but value nonetheless for a treat.

To Kokker (two chefs) is located in the one of the old wooden buildings along the harbor. You need to walk away from the water into a narrow ally to find the place. The restaurant is located upstairs and has a nicely preserved heritage building atmosphere. You can have a set menu of 4-6 dishes or order al a carte.... More

One of things I had come to expect during my time in Norway is that everything (including this restaurant) is expensive. However, in restaurants like this one, you can rightfully expect that everything is going to be great quality food as well and cooked perfectly. We were a last minute addition to the dinner service and were crammed on a... More

This is the first time I ate whale carpaccio and Reindeer fillet. Both of them taste great. Above my expectation. Clearly these kind of menu which makes this place very famous. I had dinner on Tuesday night and the place was full with crowds. Nice ambience and as it is located in Bryggen, you feel that you are not having... More

This is a great restaurant is located in Bryggen, in the City of Bergen, Norway. Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen, is a reminder of the town’s Hanseatic League’s trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century. There were many fires over the centuries, the last in 1955, that have ravaged the characteristic wooden houses of Bryggen. Approximately 62... More

Tl;dr: Great food, service, and ambience. Had not the client recommended this place, we would've never found it since its entrance was tucked away in one of the turns along Bryggen. The waiter was very patient when we were deciding what to order, introduced the dishes succinctly each time the food arrived, and served the wine with aplomb. We had... More

Really lovely old restaurant where great local gourmet meals are served by excellent staff. Food locally sourced, tasty, traditional yet with a light twist but nothing cheffy or idiotic here. Competent sound Norwegian cuisine at its best. I have no hesitation to recommend and would certainly eat here again. Four course meal brilliant - loved the moose carpaccio, the turbot... More

Our 2nd. visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere and location are excellent. The steps upstairs are a little hard on my knees but then that is my problem. The service is a little slow but this is generally the case throughout the country. We both had halibut which was delicious. We desserts were also excellent. They have an excellent menu... More

The sister restaurant of the better-know Enhjorningen, you have to walk a few yards up the alley and then climb the stairs to find this wonderful gourmet Bergen institution. Modest portions of wonderful fish, meat and game beautifully presented. Our best gourmet meal in Scandinavia in a warm, historic atmosphere.
