This is the place for a splurge

For our last dinner in Trondheim, we were up for a splurge, and boy, did we choose the right place. The complimentary homemade foccacia bread is wickedly delicious. The charming young chef even stopped... More

Don't bother to order a pre-course. The food is ok, but nothing special. The service is average, Amateur waitresses. Not Fine dining. A little bit expensive to be a restaurant just a little above the average in Norway.

Went there on a business dinner, three courses. First was a mushroom soup that tasted like salt..., just terrible. Then we had the signature dish, a hot stone where you cook your own beef....basic, boring, nothing special... And to top it off they served youghurt/granola and fruits for dessert!!! Sorry but that is a breakfast dish for me. So please... More

With regards to the food - 3 of our party had the "Cellar Beef" which was ok but the sauces were bland - I had the other beef/steak dish which was tough and certainly not what would be expected from a filet cut. The pavlova was a very, very small portion. Overall the food was average, overpriced, small portions and... More

Atmosphere, interior, location are all great. Too bad the food ruined everything. I ordered some kind of steak. The meat was ok, nothing more, and the sauce tasted like I guess cold, old dishwashing water would taste like. It was terrible, awful, and not what you would expect from a place like this. My friends were a lot happier with... More

Had high hopes for this place, and were determined to try the famous Kjellerbiff. Its a "cook you own meat" kinda thing, and you get a hot rock to cook your raw meat. It was quality meat, but the sauces was kinda dull and the salad was terrible. Next time I feel like cooking my own meat, I'll do it... More

Had dinner at the restaurant during a short business trip to Trondheim. It is located in a basement and the decorations fit that well. The environment is fun and comfortable. The menu is fairly simple, but offers interesting choices. Decided to go with klippfisk (salted and dried cod) for appetizer and the restaurant's signature Kjellerbiff for main course. The klippfisk... More

My husband and I were there on Valentine's day and both had the "kjellerbiff". You cook it on a hot stone. Even when you cook it all through, it was still tender- that is a sign of good quality beef! Also, you get served 3 different dips (mango, garlic and chili (the latter was however not spicy at all)), salad,... More

I visited the restaurant Jonathan 1st of November 2012 and I must say the experience was very good. Food was amazing, service was good and very straightforward. I must recommend to try the following menu: Mushroom soup as a starter, the Jonathan signature dish as a main and marinated cloudberries as a desert. Add a glass of wine and you... More

We just loved the atmosphere in this cosy place. The staff is very friendly and the food marvelous! Being a vegetarian, I was very happy that they had a vegetarian dish in their meny. And it was delicious!! I think I've got a new favourite place to go in Trondheim.
