Frati is the taste of Italy - in the middle of Trondheim. For over 40 years has the Italian restaurant served tasty dishes, and is known for its tempting appetizers, better dinners and a wide selection of fine wines. In the family run restaurant, good ingredients are spcied up with joy and friendly people. The hospitality is great, and everything is arranged for you to relax and enjoy an evening of good food and good company in a real Italian restaurant.

Upgraded Italian in Trondheim

Frati used to be a average-to-good restaurant with Norwegian fare leaning to an Italian touch. It has moved from its original location but not far from it. Following my experience at its new location, the change of style is far greater than the move. The food is really, really, good Italian fare... read more

We had lunch here. Menu had a good selection of dishes. Nice decorated place, with good fast and good service. All food tasted good and the prices not so bad.

We had lunch here without a reservation (as all restaurants are quite busy here it is better to reserve, but as we were just wandering around...). An Italian sandwich and the calzone fritti, both were really good and will definitely come back here for dinner next time we're in Trondheim! It is a microbrewery as well and we had the... More

Delicious italian food served in a very cool place. Open, trendy and spacious restaurant in the middle of Trondheim. Very good service. Great value, great taste. Had pasta with gorgonzola sauce and walnuts. Will be back and order the same 👍🏼

Saturday night drop in for a small meal. Modern place, semi-filled,"wait to be seated" placard and -accidentally- a passing waiter saw us standing there... When seen, we quickly got a decent table and ordered drinks; GT and wine -a standard appetizer that took "forever" to arrive while the menu was studied. Food, pasta, came fast and was prepared to our... More

Nice selection of food. Staff was helpful in finding a vegan option for one of us. The food was excellent. They also have a micro brewery on site. In addition to two house beers the seasonal brown ale was great.

Have been in the new location a couple of times now. The food is good - a bit small portions maybe? But the restaurant is very noisy - at least during lunch. Was there for lunch and when we sat down we were told that we had to leave 1.5hrs later. And the food tok about 45 minutes to arrive... More

This is a new opening of one of the local's favourite Italian restaurant. The venue is great, the service is fantastic, they do not now what more they can do for you, and are highly skilled and professional, it is a treat to be here. Personally I sometimes find Italian food to be a bit boring, but this was just... More

This is a very nice Italian place with proper Italian food. The people are nice, and the food is freshly made. After they changed location, some of the atmosphere is gone due to the size.

Italian restaurant. Ordered pasta caebonara. Food was over cooked. Bacon not crisp. Assume chefs not well trained or prudent.Prices acceptable if food have been cooked correctly. Resturant sems to be crowdy, but I cannot undersand why.
