Superior Cooking in Trondheim

This restaurant was recommended from a chief at a two star Michelin restaurant in Oslo who once worked here. What a great recommendation. Everything was tasty and well prepared. This has got to be one of the better restaurants in Trondheim. To Rom would be successful in any major city.

To be honest it didn't tick all my boxes. I thought the food was just okay. The asparagus starter with quail eggs was well presented but lacked something. The main course of roast lamb was seriously lacking flavour. I thought the restaurant lacked ambience, the service was attentive and friendly. Our waiter told us that they will soon redecorate so... We have dined several times at To rom og kjokken, and never been disappointed. Carefully selected raw materials, very well prepared and accompanied with wines that heightens the meal. The manager Roar Hildonen have extensive knowledge of meat and wine, and are willing to share this knowledge if he is there.

We were a group of scientists going to this restaurant for dinner after a long day of research discussions. You immediately got an impression of a very favorable ambient. The service was excellent, the food superior, we had specially selected salmon and meat from a high altitude location called Røros. The owner of the restaurant came by to greet the... More

My daughter found this restaurant on one of the "foodie" sites she browses. We spoke with one of the ladies at our hotel reception desk and she said it was really good and we would enjoy it. Because of the time, she also called them and made a reservation for us. When we arrived - it was just a short... More

Focus on local food with local beer. Also does wine, and is among the few places in town with a less than embarrassing whisky selection. Friendly, casual and welcoming service. Anything with sea-buckthorn will be great.

I visited as part of a group and we had pre-ordered our food and drinks. On arrival we were given a warm and friendly welcome and was quickly shown to our table. The food and driks were all promptly served. The food was good quality and the quantity for the main dish was also just about right for me. The... More

This restaurant was recommended by our "Foodie" friend from San Sebastian, Spain. She is our go to person when traveling outside the U.S. she was right on with this recommendation. This restaurant deliveres every time. It's casual, but also have a hint of high class. Especially when it comes to the food. They use a lot of local ingredients typical for this region, but is as much like a French brasserie.
