You feel you are welcome to this Indian restaurant located in a basement in the city center. Efficient and very friendly staff. Food was well prepared and very tasty. Average pricing on food. Beer and wine were priced below average. (Norway has en extra tax on alcoholic beverages.) The restaurant seems to be popular. It is wise to pop in... More

This must be the best indian cuisine I have ever ate, including trips all over the world (except India). Rater small resturant, but the food is excellent. Prices are quite high though.

Colourful Restaurant, large menu, but a bit overpriced I think. Centrally located in Kristiansand. I think maybe the most famous in Norway.

We ate here recently, not expecting great things or cheap food - this is Norway - but I was appalled with the inedible pile of mostly raw, unspiced vegetables delivered after ordering Tandoori vegetables. I was expecting something like grilled or roasted vegetables with a rich spicy sauce but raw green pepper, carrot, cauliflower cabbage - that is not an... More

I have been going to Mother India since 1996, first with my husband, then with our children as soon as they started enjoying spices (age 2) and often with family and friends. We never miss a chance to take my parents out to eat at Mother India when they are visiting from the US. (My father insists on it.) We... More

Some year ago I was a returning customer at this restaurant, as I often visited Kristiansand and liked the food here. Then I was there at weekdays, and usually easily got a table without booking. Nowadays I am in Kristiansand more seldom , so at my two previous visits I have booked a table as it has been for special... More

Even by Norwegian standars, this dinner seemed expensive. However, the food was good and the service was friendly and efficient. The menu was a bit limited, and one of our favourite dishes (Rogan Josh) was not available.

The service was ok but the food was disappointing, we ordered the lamb and tikka chicken and it was dry and few pieces served with to much rice and a mix of raw vegetables. The nanbread was tasteless. I have eaten better and cheaper indian before.

We visited Mother India because of the T.A.reviews, and we were absolutely satisfied with the food. Great taste and all the classical Indian Food. The service was also great. We were a bit concerned with the price, as we often eat Indian food around the world, and I think this was really expensive compared to other places. But I must... More
