Mother India is Norway’s oldest Indian restaurant. Run by the Sharma family the restaurant opened its door in 1993, and has been with the same family in the same location ever since. We are proud of this, but also humble to our guests' expectations of us.We regard ourselves as cultural ambassadors of India through the food we serve. Hence, as our guest you are not a customer but part of our family. We constantly source our ingredients from different suppliers, searching for the very best. That is why we also blend our own spice mixtures. This gives our food a unique flavor, and the recipes are a well kept secret.

This restaurant has it all!

A hidden gem in Oslo. I have lived here 28 years and never tried this restaurant before. The atmosphere, service and food were wonderful. We went there to celebrate our son’s 20th birthday. They even brought out an amazing dessert for him with a firework cake candle shooting off!! Now that is extra... read more

If you’re in Oslo, don’t miss Mother India! It’s easy to find – just steps from the Dalsbergstien tram stop and easily reached from downtown. Once there, you’ll find authentic Indian dishes to suit any palate. I had Shahi Paneer, a mild vegetarian dish with cheese in a creamy cashew-based sauce. My friend, a discerning cook of Indian cuisine in... More

The best indian food ever. Get the Pakora as a starter. I had a all vegan menu with great spices including fresh ginger and coriander. Don't miss that place when you visit Oslo.

It was my first visit to Mother India. Really pleased with the quality and taste of truly Indian food. The staff was very friendly and understanding. I returned with good memories. There are many so-called Indian Restaurants, but this is the real one... With best wishes

I've been there tonight together with a colleague and we both really loved the great (delicious and spicy) food and service. The very welcoming lady owner literally pampered us!
