Description: Mother India is Norway’s oldest Indian restaurant. Run by the Sharma...
Mother India is Norway’s oldest Indian restaurant. Run by the Sharma family the restaurant opened its door in 1993, and has been with the same family in the same location ever since. We are proud of this, but also humble to our guests' expectations of us.We regard ourselves as cultural ambassadors of India through the food we serve. Hence, as our guest you are not a customer but part of our family. We constantly source our ingredients from different suppliers, searching for the very best. That is why we also blend our own spice mixtures. This gives our food a unique flavor, and the recipes are a well kept secret.

Very good Indian

We had a lovely dinner here. We had garlic nan, chicken tikka, rogan josh, butter chicken and egg plant curry. All dishes were delicious accompanied by saffron rice. It was a busy evening and yet the service was good. I recommended this restaurant if you fancy a nice Indian meal.

I´ve been to this restaurant two times, and I love the food! I recommend the dish called Mango Murgh (chicken i mango sauce). It´s the best Indian dish I´ve ever tasted! The atmosphere is cosy, and the staff are polite and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you´re in Oslo.

Went there when I was on business together with two colleagues. Small restaurant but very nice atmosphere. And the best Indian food ever. Absolute goto restaurant!

Mother India is without a doubt the best place in Oslo for Indian cuisine. Not surprisingly it is also by far the most expensive. My wife and I go there for the special occasions and are always happy (as long as we forget about our lighter wallets)

The food is absolutely delicious, this is the place to go if you want an amazing meal. I have been to Mother India several times over past years, and it just keeps getting better! The atmosphere is very cosy and the service is excellent. I ordered take away, where one of the dishes was with meat when I had ordered... More

One of the best Indian restaurant in Oslo, its not far away from City center, easily accessible. Better to reserve a table before you go, since it was crowded when we went. We had to wait for a while to get a table, luckily the staff was very helpful to accommodate us. Food was of good quality/quantity, staff was very... More

I have only ordered take-away from this restaurant and will therefor not comment anything on the service, food or atmosphere of the restaurant, only for what i have gotten delivered. I have ordered from this place 3 times, and all the times the quality of the food has been varying. The first time it was ok, the food tasted good... More

We enjoyed some of the best Indian food we ever had at Mother India. Big choice of delicious dishes and you can choose how hot (or not) they should be. Very friendly service, highly recommended.
