Excetional food

We celebrated a birthday and booked a table well in advanced. The room at Ylajali is beautiful. We order the wine following the set menue. The food was absolutly excellent and the wine a superb match. We are looking forward to the New Nordic Michelin guide in February ⭐️⭐️

The title of the review says it all but to be clear, I've eaten at an array of Michelin starred restaurants around the world, 3 star, 2 star and 1. This stands head and shoulders above all of them and their gamut of famous name chefs. The reason, of course, is the mind blowing, cutting edge food but much more... More

We came here for a birthday celebration. It was our second visit to this restaurant. The first was about a year ago and a memorable experience. We were not disappointed this time either. Very pleasant and attentive personnel. Each course - and there are many, all based on Norwegian ingredients - are carefully and beautifully prepared. A pleasure for the... More

Five friends. We also know a place like Maaemo (two Michelin stars) but Ylajali in many respects comes across as just as good. Extremely exciting menu inspired by author Knut Hamsun's book "Hunger". Norse flair like a black metal inspired all black dish. Perfect service. One dish a bit salty, which was duly noted and corrected.

I've been here twice, once with my girlfriend (July'14) and last with my friends. Both times were excellent. The food is great, all 20-or so servings are beautifully served. Accompanying wines were good for most parts (we also had the wine menu) and all in all one of the better meals you can get in Oslo. All the way up... More

We just loved the food. The presentation of each dish was fantastic. New and exciting tastes. But even if we loved the meal, it was a bit expensive.

At Ylajali you get more than a meal, you get an experience. The staff was profesional, yet friendly, the food was amazing and exciting. The wines were perfectly matched and all excellent. All in all an a perfect evening.

One of the best meals to get in Oslo. One well deserved Michelin star. Perfectly balanced courses in flavors and textures. Yes Maaemo is in my opinion better, but Ylajali is so damn close, more sensibly priced and easier to get a table. Wines where not perfectly paired to the courses on our visit, but where good in taste an... More

Yes, one night in heaven! Exactly! Ylajali gives you a most memorable evening. There has always been excellent food, outstanding service and a lot of happiness at Ylajali. But at these days Mr. Ramsvik & co gives you the best! One set menu and one wine menu. 20 challenges to your taste, combined with a perfect wine selection (thanks to... More

Having vissited Ylajali in 2012, I came back for a second visit in may 2014 after it recieved it's (well-deserved) Michelin star. Remembering my visist in 2012 as quite impressive (it was one of my first experiences with "fine dining"), my expectations were high. I was not let down! The entrance to Ylajali is almost hidden, but once you enter... More
