Very good and reasonably priced Pakistani food

This was my first meeting with the Pakistani cuisine. Although Pakistani and (North) Indian food is pretty similar, I was pleasantly surprised to find interesting distinct differences. This was my first meeting with the Pakistani cuisine. Although Pakistani and (North) Indian food is pretty similar, I was pleasantly surprised to find interesting distinct differences. We had a delicious Tandoori-style Murgh (chicken) Tikka dish, an amazing daal makhni, and a really interesting bhindi-do-piyaza (with bitter gourd -- to me a new vegetable and super exciting). As said in previous reviews this is an excellent place to eat whether you are veggie or not. There are several vegetarian options and some set menus to help with your choice. The décor is elegant and immaculate and the service perfect. We were offered a complimentary lentil soup which was a lovely unexpected touch. The food was flavoursome and... More

The staff here were attentive, friendly and helpful. My vegetarian husband wanted to try something new and he discussed 2 dishes with them before making a decision. The cook then produced a miniature side dish of the other dish so he could still try it and for no further cost. My husband was very touched by this. My food was... More

Some friends and I decided to try out this restaurant that was recommended to us. The food was oily and tasted only of spices. The visit was a really disappointment.

During my stay in Oslo I tried this restaurant and they guided me what to order. Also, suggested that I should try a little bit of different things. I had ordered Karachi which tasted like Qorma but it wasn't too bad. Lentil soup was great. Eating out in Oslo is expensive so is this restaurant.

We fancied some curry so we decided to try Mehfel due to its high rankings on Tripadvisor. We weren't disappointed at all. The food was delicious and the service we got was really great - the staff were friendly and we even got a complimentary starter of lentil soup, which was very tasty. The only thing that surprised us was... More

Often when am travelling we opt for a South Asian meal to break up the usual travel fare and to get some veggie options. So this trip to Oslo we ended up at Mehfel with some friends and it was way above usual expectations. Probably some of the best South Asian cuisine we have tasted anywhere in the world! The... More

The environment was cool with Indian/Pakistani music. The service was great and the taste of the meals were magical and wonderful. We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. When they noticed they surprised her with gifts. We will defiantly visit them again if we travel to Oslo.
