Pay a visit to Xích Lô (pron. cyklo) for a taste from a little Further East. This is a unique treasure of a Vietnamese restaurant, now occupying new premises on Karl Johans gate 23 B on the first floor of the new department store in Egertorget square. Delicately exotic with light and airy interior and a mouth-watering menu where the food is reasonably priced and completely authentic. Aromatic and spicy without being too hot, the dishes are served as small pieces of art on the plate. Enjoy your trip Further East!

The restaurant is a bit hidden, although it is very centrally located in downtown Oslo. What can I say? Food is delicious, and the wine as well. The somelliere is both funny and knowledgeable, and a reason for visiting just by himself. This is worth a recommendation, and I think I will go back there myself too actually.

I have visited this restaurant before for dinner. This time I went for lunch. The lunch menu is a bit smaller but has good dishes. If you want good Asian food for lunch this is a place to have in mind.

We were there for lunch. The food was great. Infusion water on the side was a nice extra. Sufficient portion although it is slightly overpriced in my opinion. The service was excellent at the beginning. Getting less attentive during the whole dining experience which was unexpected for a nice and high rated restaurant. It took them quite some time to... We chose the special menu; two appetizers and main course. The first appetizers was a combined seafood and fish plate, the secind one was different kinds of meat. The main course was sliced breast of duck. Heavenly. Wines good!

A good start with cool menus on an iPad and quick order taking. The startes came and was good. Then nothing worked. We were sitting and waiting 1 hour for our main course, nobody asked us if we wanted more to drink, nobody offered any excuse or explanation when we asked for the main course. The main courses were also... More

Overall: 5- Comments: located in a shopping center, surprising, but ok when you find it. Great food, great choices of wine to go along. This joint has sommelier. Tasting menu is a good idea, and makes sense here. The 2,5 hour time slot was not possible to keep, things went a little to slow towards the end. Reservation: 4 Location:... More

We had a great and delicious dinner with our friends. I really recommend a tasting menu - you can taste different small portions. The dinner was really good - fresh, spicy and looked very nice. We had a reservation for 2,5 hours but we were 3 hours so this is probably not for those who needs to hurry somewhere else... More

Despite located in a mall this restaurant is classy with a wide range of food. Enough waiters gives you no waiting time. I ate duck, one of the best I've ever tasted
