Very, very good!

We went to Brasserie France on a weeknight at the end of tourist season, and it was packed to the rafters with locals, a hopeful and fortunately accurate, sign. The decor is Paris bistro, as is the food. The room is long and narrow, and chock-a-block with tables for two, which are pushed together... read more

This is probably the closest you can come to a french brasserie in Oslo. The serve good straightforward food. Everything was well made and rapidly served. The waiters were experience and informal. The seating is quite narrow so the privacy is limited at the ground floor. If you want privacy, you should choose seating upstairs.

I had the three course menu of the day, with a shellfish starter, a halibut (good enough for Jehova!) main and the famous dessert trolley to end the meal. The food was delicious, the waiters were friendly and attentive and the dessert trolley selection made me eat way more than I should have.

This was class. The Fish of the day(vill kveite) was amazing. The starter and dessert as well. The service always very correct and polite, with a touch of humour and personality. Very well balanced. For certain, this could be the best place in town. Always packed as well. Highly RECOMENDED.

The restaurant is located just a stone throw from Karl Johan, but gives you a very authentic French feeling. I had three courses with 25 of my colleagues, and we were all very pleased with the experience. The schrimp cocktail was good and generous in size, and the toasted garlic crackers were great. For our main course we had a... More

Just off Oslo's main dining street is Brasserie France. A pleasant find with good service and food at fair prices. From the outside tables to the interior decorations a diner feels like being in Paris. A typical Brasserie menu with all the standbys including a very good Croque Monsieur to their prix fixe lunch.

We stopped in for a late lunch here. The atmosphere is quite charming & reminiscent of small cafes in Paris. I enjoyed both the excellent escargot as well as the moules with frites while my wife had the croque madam sandwich. All were very well prepared & quite tasty. service was friendly but somewhat slow on a busy Saturday afternoon.... More

We just had the French onion soup but it was very good and quite filling. Lovely little table on the patio with a very attentive waiter who made great conversation about his visit to Canada!

Poor quality and not very French food. Very expensive, even for Oslo's standards. Avoid this tourist trap and go elsewhere!
