Expensive and average

So firstly let's understand that nowhere in Oslo is good value for money: The place is ridiculously expensive - especially if you want to drink alcohol. So once you get that out of the way, and just look at the quality of the food you can see that it is very average indeed. My chicken with... read more

I was a bit apprehensive before we ate at Jambo due to the previous reviews on the Tripadvisor site. However we had no issues - the food was tasty , wide variety of choices and the staff were polite and helped with Dad's mobility scooter.

As a tour leader I expect when I come with a group of 25 persons (prebooked) that we are welcome in the Restaurant. This is the worse experience I ever have had. Unpleasant staff and simple food. In Oslo we have lots of nice Asian restaurants with nice staff, good food and reasonable prices. Stay away from this one!!!

I love Chinese food, and I mostly go for Asian food when traveling. This was some of the worst restaurant food I have ever been served. Ordered from the sea food menu. Got it in less than five minutes (microwaved?), sauce and vegetables didn't have ANY taste. The seafood ingredient tasted so old it was un-eatable. I had to shove... More

The manager took our order, making fun of me when I asked about the ingredients in the Chicken Soup. My friends got some very dull and tasteless noodles and my chickensoup had the consistency og slime. The chicken looked slightly dessolved, like it had been laying in the soup for days. I sent it back and the manager came back... More

Visited here with a business connection in January 2015. The facilities is a bit out of date but clean and functional. We ordered some spicy food and beer. Service level a bit informal. The food is not authentic China food and either special or appealing. At the best ordinary. Oslo have many other restaurants with much better quality and atmosphere... More

We quite enjoy our meals in Jambo. Here you find several dishes that does China proud as a foodloving nation. It should be said that much of the menu is catered towards the typical westerner, but asking the waiter for information about which meals are westernized and which is authenthic is recommended. This is not indicated on the menu in... More

For chinese Food, this is one of my favourites in Oslo. As you have guessed by now I have been here several times. The Food is decent. The ambience is good. sit by the window to see all the action on Karl Johans gt. if you are the type outside. If you are a vegetarian, just tell them what you... More

I am never going back to this place. The food is bad, they serve mostly vegetables although in the menu it was claimed as pork or beef. The service was horrible (if I could underline this I'd underline this with the boldest marker. The owner is so disrespectful and never smiles. Please do not come here if you are expecting... More

The service was so-so as they kept us waiting even there were tables available. The captain shouted at the waiters very often. I saw Chinese chef but turned out the food was bad,not authentic, far below average. Oily, not fresh, tasteless and not cheap. If you miss Chinese food badly, you may give it a try but don't expect anything... More
