Excellent food and wine

I went here a few days ago and enjoyed the whale salad in particular. This is budget friendly gourmet food in a very expensive city. The wine list complements the food, and so does the service.

Food in Oslo is expensive. But everyone should save some money for eating out. If you go to Lokk, you'll find a tiny place with young chefs and great food. The seared raw whale with pork mayonnaise and salad is pure joy. A cozy place, with nice atmosphere and very good music.

Simple place with great service and honest portions. Had the chicken ginger coconut soup and it was very flavorful but balanced. The desert was quite creative and delicious. Service was excellent. It was our first meal in Oslo and of course we always jump at the price of meal in Scandinavia but we have nothing to compare it to yet.... More

Very small and simple menù with 3 dishes of the day (entree, soup and dessert) that changes. I ate a really delicious soup and an original and very tasty dessert. Quite expensive (especially drinks) But this is Oslo.

Since everything in norway is incredibly expensive we were looking for a budget restaurant in Oslo, and thanks to tripadvisor we walked in to this place. The waitor had rock'n'roll looks and I think we were the only tourists in the place which gave it a local feeling. Also the entire menu is filled with local products, which I like.... More

My best friend and I dined here without reservations on a Saturday night. We ate outside and both chose the 3 course meal which we found to be very good. Also the staff there were very nice and attentive, explained the various local beers they had and the menu. I agree with another reviewer who said the beers were expensive.... More

I went here after looking it up on Trip Advisor & I wasn't disappointed! I had a chicken & ginger soup & it came with free homemade (?) bread & 2 types of butter. It was unusual soup but super tasty. Definitely would return. A*

I stopped in here by myself and was seated at the "bar" along the window. I opted not to get the 3 course meal and had the paprika soup, vegetarian risotto, and a glass of wine. The food was delicious, the service was great, and from what I understand of Oslo, it was a pretty good value. I would definitely... More

Booked dinner based on recommendation however when we arrived I really wondered if I picked the wrong place... It was in a side street, from outside the interior looked like a student bar and a very sparse menu ... We were seated and I looked at menu and was thinking I will be having soup for dinner however I decided... More

Small, expensive and tasty portions, balancing on the edge of being too small. What really triggers me is the price policy for their beers. They multiply the buying price by three, resulting in some absurd selling prices. Example: A Boulevard Double IPA costs NOK 345 (!) for a 75 cl bottle. That must be a world record!? Nobody buys that,... More
