This may have been the most expensive meal that we have even eaten -- at the cost of about $600 per person -- but it was also among the best that we have eaten. Everything was extraordinary. We were served over 24 dishes. Each was delicious with lots of unusual combinations and ingredients from ants and reindeer heart -- but... More

A incredible journey through natural norvegian produces. This dinner has been a surprise from the start to the end. Fantastic food, excellent service, young and dynamic brigade, modern setup. Maaemo is definitely on the top list of the gastronomical restaurants we made so far. I recommend the matching wine menu.

This restaurant can be tricky to find, but is well worth finding. The service is fabulous without being overwhelming; a difficult balance to strike. The food is just delightful and the wine pairings are perfect. It is an evening to remember.

It's a gastronomic and visual story told over 20 courses. Each story prepared, inspected and served by highly professional staffmembers. In short: the food and wine was excellent. The location is good, right by the city centre. Reservation is needed.

We are self described foodies, who enjoy traveling to experience unique locations and culinary treats. Maaemo is truly the top 2-3 food experiences that we have enjoyed. The combination of small (8-9 tables served per night), service (2-4 servers per table) serving a 20 course meal combining local ingredients, with outstanding creativity. The meal can be enjoyed with a wine... More

The restaurant only consists of 8-9 tables and is quite popular since it has two Michelin Stars. They practise the use of local norwegian food and combine it with a genious touch of nature in way you seldom experience. Booked two months ahead. Enjoyed the evening with friends on a saturday evening. Spent a total of five hours at the... More

I've been to a lot of 2 Michelin star restaurants, and two 3 star ones, but this is still my favorite of all my restaurants. It's very expensive, but it's a memory for life! loved it!

Maaemo means Mother Earth in old Finnish, and the two Michelin star restaurant emphasizes food that is close to mother earth, naturally/ locally sourced, and showcasing the raw nature of Norway. There are only eight tables in the restaurant and reservations have to made a few months in advance. It is a set menu of 20 courses with/ without wine... More

A 2 star Michelin is, of cource, very good. Some of the 20 "dishes" are marvelous, some more strange, following a line, but few surprises. The waiters should speak Norwegian, especially when presenting the cources (not French/English). Very expensive wine pairing and too litle wine (especially in the start), empty glasses. Almost only French wines. The Chablis was chablis (not... More
