Rustic food and a friendly, casual and relaxed athmosphere. They arranged a special dinner for our group of 15 people in a generous and professional way. I can recommend them.

I've heard a lot of good things about St Lars, and took my family there Saturday the fourth. Summed up: The waiter was nice and gave us great wine advices to match our food. The party of five had two pieces of entrecote and three burgers. The entrecote was satisfying, but not exceptional. The three burgers tasted pure salt, and... More

Out for a meal with a business acquantance and his wife. Came to nearly empty restaurant (worrying!), but we soon relaxed. A waitress who knew what she was on about, later the chef came out to discuss the meal (which was delicious). Great wines..

I've eaten here a few times before, and always enjoyed the experience, particularly the grilled meat . This time the chef recommended the burger - and now I do as well. As someone who's lived in both London and the US I've eaten some of the better burgers in the world, and while this burger was not quite on the... More

I have visited St. Lars a number of times and was never disappointed. The food is simple, non pretentious grill (generous portions), with a lot of seasonal products with a scandinavian flair. In early autumn go for the chanterelle mushroom burger - the flavour and scent is simply to die for. The restaurant has an extensive wine list, and serve... More

St. Lars is a specialized grill restaurant with a rustic theme. I went for one of the house specialities, lamb, long baked before put on the grill. Seriously one of the best pieces of meat I have had, really tender and tasty. What I got was just lots of good food served in an appealing way, no mumbo jumbo. Not... More

Was there with a few frinds to have a nice dinner. First of all, the staff was snooty and pretensious. I ordered lamb, and it was dry and tasteless. Later in the evening, my chair actually fell apart and i landed on my a... Funny for us, but staff charged me 500 NOK as they thought i broke it intentionally.... More

We were a party of twelve, and everyone ordered a set three courses menu (745,-), and most of us, also a wine menu (550,-). The food was good, and the wine as well, but not worth the high prices. When the waiter presented the bill, they tried to charge extra, saying they had opened extra bottles. I had one glass... More

As an American chef, living in Norway, I am always searching for the perfect blend of service, atmosphere, great food, and, excellent wine when I dine out. Of all the restaurants in Oslo, St. Lars is one of only two that keeps me coming back time and time again.. I have never been let down! Last night was my best... More
