Alfred is a cafe with local, sustainably produced and seasonal food. We welcome the Nobel Peace Center visitors, passers-by, tourists and neighbors alike to an informal and relaxed atmosphere inside and in our outdoor patio. Our Finnish Head Chef Joni Leskinen has composed a menu combining craftsmanship and carefully selected local produce. Swedish Mattias Åstrand is our new chef in Alfred. He shares Joni’s love of the season based Nordic kitchen, and with an extra thought to both produce and guests, the dishes they create are both surprising and tasty.

Horrible clients reception, 40 minutes to receive the menu (that we asked for), 20 minutes for the waitress to come and ask me the order (my friends had finished to eat and drink at that time so I just asked for water). My friend got a cold gateaux aux chocolat and my other friend had to wait 20 minutes to... More

We came across this place by chance after getting finished with a sightseeing tour. We had a lovely lunch late in the day & enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the pier. Fresh organic plates and very friendly service. Limited menu but food was delicious. Food was a little more reasonably priced compared to our other dining experiences in Oslo. Loved that... More

I ate today's 6 course menu, and it is one of the best meals I have eaten at such a reasonable price. Great food and incredibly friendly waiters. I'll be back soon ....

We went to this restaurant because they had a menu themed around Norwegian produce (a fair promoting this was running at the same time). It was certainly the best meal we had in Oslo and our experience with the staff was fine. They were very friendly and welcoming. We also ate outside and enjoyed watching the street scene. The fixed... More

So, this is the place to be if you just want to be seen, not to eat. I sat on the terrace - which has a great view, by the way - and enjoyed the warm evening (by Norwegian standards). The staff were uninviting, I will not say rude, but looked like they did not care whether the customers were... More

I am hesitating between terrible or poor. Then I thought about the price they charged and the arrogant waiter, I went with terrible. Honestly we were there because my friends had a wonderful lunch experience. But obviously this place is horrible for dinner. We waited 30 minutes before even got our chicken salad, which by the way I did not... More

A restaurant with this location better serve up on both service and food. Both failed on my first and last visit at this restaurant. The mussels way too salty and didn't taste much more, and the chicken salad was a simle salad with some bad looking chicken tasting like cat food. (One of my colleague also got ill after eating... The restaurant has a great location, but that's where it stops. Me and my two colleagues went for lunch, they ordred the mussels, I ordered the chicken salad. I asked the waitress if the chicken was filet of breast, and she confirmed that it was. The mussels were not good at all, too much coriander. BUT the worst of it... More
