Alfred is a cafe with local, sustainably produced and seasonal food. We welcome the Nobel Peace Center visitors, passers-by, tourists and neighbors alike to an informal and relaxed atmosphere inside and in our outdoor patio. Our Finnish Head Chef Joni Leskinen has composed a menu combining craftsmanship and carefully selected local produce. Swedish Mattias Åstrand is our new chef in Alfred. He shares Joni’s love of the season based Nordic kitchen, and with an extra thought to both produce and guests, the dishes they create are both surprising and tasty.

Excellent stop for lunch

After visiting the Peace Center, we had a drink on the terrace of Alfred's and, tempted by the dishes passion by our eyes, decided to stay for lunch on that beautiful sunny day. We had an excellent meal in a delightful, friendly, relaxed environment. A great place, and very friendly service.

So while touring the peace Museum I saw a poster describing its Jerusalem artichoke salad and I had to go. This cafe is inside the Nobel peace centre and its green with cool music. This a very relaxing place. There is simple food like pea soup, salads and sandwiches. There are also pastries and a relaxing place to relax after... More

What a wonderful cafe! I had lunch here and sat outside, which offered a great view of Aker Brygge. I had an absolutely beautiful and tasty salad - much more elegant and delicious than I was expecting from what looked like a very informal cafe. A great option in this area, especially on a warm, sunny day!

This cafe is part of the Nobel Peace Center...so every beer you drink is going to good cause! A bottle of Aass beer is a reasonable 59kr each, staff is friendly, and the lovely outdoor seating is right on the harbor for great views of the water, fortress, and people watching.

We were in Oslo over the long Easter week end and lots of places were closed but the Nobel Peace Center and Café Alfred weren't! We shared a delicious beet salad, pastry, had 2 coffees, plus I had a glass of wine and the bill was approximately $34 US--a bargain in my opinion. The café is very light and airy... More

Horrible clients reception, 40 minutes to receive the menu (that we asked for), 20 minutes for the waitress to come and ask me the order (my friends had finished to eat and drink at that time so I just asked for water). My friend got a cold gateaux aux chocolat and my other friend had to wait 20 minutes to... More

We came across this place by chance after getting finished with a sightseeing tour. We had a lovely lunch late in the day & enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the pier. Fresh organic plates and very friendly service. Limited menu but food was delicious. Food was a little more reasonably priced compared to our other dining experiences in Oslo. Loved that... More

I ate today's 6 course menu, and it is one of the best meals I have eaten at such a reasonable price. Great food and incredibly friendly waiters. I'll be back soon ....
