Very touristy and a little like an amusement park ride but worth it for the experience and pictures. The drinks aren't great and you are ushered in and out but still...worth it.
We went to the Oslo Ice Bar with a whole group of people from the Azamara Quest when docked in Oslo overnight. None of us had ever been and seemed like we should give it a go. Norway seemed appropriate (rather than some city in the US). They were very accommodating since we arrived earlier than scheduled and therefore it... More
It is sort of cool. The bar, glassed, and chairs are made of ice. But the walls are ice in front of metal, and don't look at all like the walls of a real ice hotel. The floor is metal, and the ceiling is the sort of drop ceiling on a metal grid that you get in lower-end offices. Some... More
I read about this ice bar before embarking on a Scandinavian cruise, and heard it was a better value than one offered in a different country through the cruise line. I booked online in order to get a better rate than just walking in. Our family of 4 loved it. thankfully we got to borrow capes with hoods & boots!!
A nice way to spend 45 minutes with friends. Yet, this is a relatively small bar with limited space, hence you may need to queue or wait for your time slot. Still a pleasant way to spend an evening.
What a unique experience. We pre-purchased our entry and drink tickets ahead of time at the tourist office. The Icebar is a few blocks walk from city hall. First you enter the gift store and sitting area of the Icebar. Entry into the actual Icebar is on the hour. Just before you go in you put on a thermo cape... More
we only had a few hours in oslo as part of our cruise so we pre-booked this attraction and got a discount. Imagine our surprise then when we noticed a 45-60 minute queue outside and then got abuse for queue jumping even though we had a pre-booked slot. So YES this is a fabulous event and really fun but it... More
I did enjoy the Icebar just because it was different but you are only inside for 45 minutes and your admission includes 1 small drink. Wouldn't go back after experiencing it once.
