Welcome to Brasserie Blanche! Restaurant Brasserie Blanche is an informal restaurant located between the Royal Palace and Majorstuen, an established area for nightlife and shopping in Oslo. Our speciality is French classic cuisine, combined with exciting dishes of seasonal ingredients. Inspiration for life at Brasserie Blanche comes from the best brasseries in France. The combination of quality ingredients and classic dishes in a homely atmosphere has been our recipe for success since 2005. Entrecote, sole meuniere and choucroute are some of the dishes we have on our menu every day. In addition, we also have special weekly menus. Welcome!

Tucked away but a culinary delight!

The friendly greeting and subsequent service really started us off on a great note. We arrived early for our reservation, but they were more than happy to accommodate us nonetheless. The friendly greeting and subsequent service really started us off on a great note. We arrived early for our reservation, but they were more than happy to accommodate us nonetheless. We started with two french classics, escargot and onion soup. The escargot was served bubbly hot and was absolutely delicious. The butter sauce was elegantly simple yet deeply flavorful. The... I sat out one evening in June , and were served delicious Arctic char and a dessert with rabarbera and Norwegian strawberries . Everything tasted good and we enjoyed ourselves .

We booked this restaurant late since we had other plans that were cancelled and it was not easy to find an open restaurant on a Sunday in Oslo. The location is really nice and the interior is cosy. The food was good and the wine very good. However the service was a bit off. We asked our waitress to let... More

Definitely our favourite restaurant in Oslo. It's tucked away to the north of the Royal Palace and very much a local's place. No problem to get a table without booking. Exceptionally friendly service and a super first rate French single chateau red served as the house wine (unless something was lost in our ordering translation). There's a French theme to... More

For me an unknown restaurant. French, then I'm basically spoiled with good food. What shall I say? the place gives you exactly what they say about food and service. Sitting outside in the heat in Oslo with guests are incredibly nice. So go there for a good experience.

Very nicely furnished brasserie style restaurant in good location by the tramway. Good athmosphere and excellent service. Waitress had very honest and good tips from the menu and well defined recommendations for the wine (nice wine list, by the way). Can recommend for both relaxed Business or 'dinner for friends' - why not for couples too. Stayed just downstairs.

The restaurant was very disappointing compare to the price. First of all the ventilation in the restaurant was really bad. Even after walking in fresh air coming back home, all our clothes smelled of said restaurant. Also, The choices for red wines in glass are very limited and not a very good ones. The food was average. I ordered the... More

I have had dinner several times at Brasserie Blanche; and I have just reached the conclusion that the place is somewhat overrated. First of all, BB is a local, unpretentious french restaurant - in the western part of Oslo city center; approximately 500 meters from the castle. Atmosphere is charming, low key; though a bit dated and old fashioned. Prices... More

We had reserved a table far in advance, but not specified where we wanted to sit. The upstairs room they sat us in suddenly became extremely noisy after the arrival of two large groups. Downstairs it was still quiet, though not empty. I also ate downstairs there a few years ago, when it was full of people, but still not... More

Lovely building and lovely French bistro type food: snails, langoustine and rare steak. Good wine too. However as always seems to be the case in Oslo, food reasonably priced but alcohol really bumps the bill up.
