Really expensive but perfect ambience, food and service. This one is perfect for the big night out. Do not mistake this for it's cheaper cousin Oro Bar & Grill. It's ok / good and not so expensive, but is a galaxy apart in terms of quality.

Oro must be one of my favorite restaurants in Oslo because it is not so expensive compared to Michelin restaurants and yet you get gourmet cooking. I am glad to see that they were able to maintain the Bib Gourmand credit by Michelin inspectors. We ordered for the 8 courses which costs 595 kr per person. Everything was really good.... More

This is the informal, brasserie style part of renowned Oslo restaurant Oro, headed by Bocuse d'Or winner Terje Næss. My wife and I spent last friday evening there - what a waste of an evening! My wife was reluctant after having had a bad experience there quite recently, but we gave it a go. Short resume: They offer a set... More

When going dining at place like this the reference-level is somewhat raised even if this in the bar & grill section of the restaurant. The service was mediocre and under pair for what one could expect and the food was not very interesting nor particularly tasteful. We all had different courses but all had starter, mains and dessert. The soup... More

I loved the private setting of this restaurant. The two menu choices are either a four course or a ten course, with or without wine pairing. We chose the four course which was deliciously prepared, high quality regional and imported ingredients. Its classic food but prepared in a modern way without being pretentious. The cod was fantastic as was the... More

But then they changed the whole team a year ago (-ish) and never came back. Food was still very good, but waiters rarely managed to deliver the food in an ok manner (either 5 minutes between meals for 2 persons, wrong course, one hot and one cold course etc). It took 5 lunches before they got it right. The warm,... More

I had a business meal here, very pleasant. The starters were excellnet, the main (I had fish) was delicious and the dessert was also fantastic. Combined with an acceptable wine list that compliments the style of food this is a very pleasant restaurant.

Ate several times at Oro early 2013. Excellent food then. Deliceous spicy mussles and other goodies. Not a shadow left of that. Starter - Tasteless king-size mussels with a non-descript dip-sauze. Main - Catch of the day. Poorest chewy glazy fish ever tasted. Out in 40 minutes. What a mess. What a pity!

The lobster soup is too rich! Shouldn't be that rich! Almost too rich for an appetizer, good idea and concept but bad execution. The white fish dinner was good, and cooked well. The wine list and champagne was good. Service was ok, had a hard time speaking English here, and the chairs were very small, my husband looked like a... More
