Authentic and great Beer

The name is what they do. Most of their food is home made even the sausages as well as Ketchup and mustard. They serve lots of local craft beers from tap. The staff is friendly but a bit on distance.

You really have to look close to see this restaurant, as it's not flashy at all. The menu is incredible, the food was awesome (we had the vegeterian polser and the lamb, CRAZY good!) and the selection of local-brewed beer is impressive. The waiter was super nice, and the vibe is cozy.

My sons and I were traveling around Europe and this was one of our first stops. We wanted to eat some dinner but showed up before the kitchen was ready. But of course we too the opportunity to try some of the wonderful beers! I read an article saying this was the best beef restaurant in Oslo. Missed the food,... More

Definitely go here for a drink, but there are better dining options in Oslo. The beer selection is pretty expansive and the prices are quite a bit less than in other bars in the city. The menu sounds like it should be really good, and the staff were very attentive and seemed enthusiastic about it, but the food really is... More

Went with group of friends to take a sausage class. Upon arrival we were shown to a private room downstairs. Our host tipped us to use the restroom, if we had to, before getting started, as there were no toilet in direct connection to the private room. Instant mother and home-feel! The class started with a lecture on beer, its... More

My husband and I came here for a few beers and dinner and fell in love. The decor inside is very cozy and well done. The beer selection is huge and the staff was very knowledgable in helping provide us selections. We tried the pork sausage and the vegetarian sausage, and really enjoyed both. I think this is a must... More

The combination of great craft beers and delicious local food make this a must-visit for those in Oslo for a short time. With a relaxed, pub-feel, the kitchen delivers bold and complex entrees celebrating the local cuisine. We had the lamb racks and handmade sausage, along with a delicious Norwegian brew. Highly recommended.

This bar, which is opposite the Bristol Hotel on Grensen, just one street up from Karl Johan's Gate, is a really cool spot for an evening drink. We happened on it almost by chance - and I'm glad we did. They've got a huge range of local cask beers, as well as Norwegian and other Scandavian lagers (and Stella if... More

This is a delight, literally, just across the street from the Hotel Bristol. It has the warm cosy feel of a beer keller, and is clearly adored by the throngs of Norwegians who gather here for a few beers, some nibbles or a more substantial meal. The selection of tap beer is good but the bottle selection of craft beers... More
