Nice Norwegian food, perfect atmosphere.

We had a lunch with a group here, loved the location and atmosphere - the place is a library and bistrot in one. The food was very nice, the restaurant offers good choice of fish, soups, salads. The portions are quite small, but it is tasty.

The vegetarian gnocci was alright in taste, though very little of the plate consisted of actual gnocci. I proceeded to have a piece of chocolate cake, because the gnocci didn't fill up a hungry stomach, only to find pieces of EGG SHELL in the cake! I notified the waiter of this, and I was sheepishly offered another piece, which I... More

Was met by the message that when we were more than 6, we had to choose between todays fish or todays meat. No such message was given when we reserved our table for 7 persons. We decided to split our orders, and could then select from the menu. Main courses were ok, could have managed some more vegetables with the... More

Kafe Oslo Litteraturhuset is always serving good food and wine at a reasonable price. The service was for sure good and on this Monday evening the today fish was Lysing/Hake served with Long Pasta type of risotto with Olives and Mussels Force. Served with a glass of Sancerre. You can not believe how this tastes melted on the tongue. Just... More

It's a nice place to hang out and have a bite to eat and when the weather is pleasant, it's lovely to sit out on the terrace and have a beer or a glass of wine. The place has a very convivial feel to it. I've been here three times over the past year. Once for a coffee and twice... More

It's a good place to spend an afternoon, Litteraturhuset is a small cultural centre with the occasional book readings and lectures. Probably better in the summer, when you can sit outside in the sun and people watch while enjoying your meal. I had the liver paté and bacon, which was super yummy, it's kinda pricy, but could be worse! The... More

Went for an evening drink and found the ambiance relaxed and intimate..Found the concept of combining socializing and culture novel and unique. Owing to its central location next to the park that containing the royal palace, I found myself back again the same week and have to note that on a warm, sunny day its terrace is an unbeatable spot... The food has always been exellent at Cafe Oslo, but the service is hardly ever good. At my last visit the service was terrible - we waited and waited for everything - but when the food finaly came; oh my God! So my advice - go there when you have plenty of time and be patient, the food is wourth... More

My first time to eat at Litteraturhuset café but have been there many times before whenever there is an occasion. This Café has a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The food is good, especially the fish 'Kveite', well-presented and delicious! The waiters are polite, friendly, well-trained and young. Here you can get to see, be seen and enjoy a nice meal for...
