Solsiden Restaurant is a seafood restaurant where we use only the best raw materials the coast has to offer. Besides a variety of different fish we always have "Plateau des Fruits de Mer" on the menu. This is our specialty consisting of oysters, clams, crabs, mussels, shrimp, crayfish (when they are available fresh), lobster and king crab. The dishes can be accompanied by one of the over 250 wines from our wine menu.

Solsiden Restaurant is located on Akershusstranda right below Akershus Fortress. Enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Oslo Fjord through the windows and open sliding doors. Here Oslo harbor is like a marine painting that changes from minute to minute.

Great food, ambiance and view

My friend and I went to this restaurant for dinner last night. We booked the place a bit late so we didn't manage to get a table right by the window (make sure you will make reservation earlier next time!) Service: People commented the service was not good at this restaurant but the waitress who... read more

This is a very nicely located restaurant at the very sea front. It is very sunny until late hours of the summer days. It is open only seasonally and it specializes in sea food. The cuisine could be described as modern french. athe service is quick and discreet. The restaurant is relatively expensive, with 160NOK average for a starter an... More

This restaurant looks nothing from the outside but is excellently located on the harbour front. Its specialty is seafood - presentation, range and quality were excellent. It's not cheap but nothing is in Oslo. Well worth a visit.

Had a great sea food platter, excellent oysters and a perfectly prepared halibut. With a Claude Riffault Sancerre in magnum bottle the evening was perfect.

The experience at Solsiden was so great! We had the three-course menu and 1/2 lobster au gratin – every course was perfect and the staffs recommendation for wine was spot on. Have to say that the service also was excellent. To make sure you get a table I would recommend making a reservation in advance. It was not any available... More

Solsiden restaurant offers not only the best seafood in Oslo, but also one of the finest views. From within the inconspicuous exterior, you can watch the sun set as you dine with friends in the charming and buzzing atmosphere of the restaurant. Norwegian restaurants are now known for their service, but Solsiden is an exception – as soon as my... More

We had the seafood plateau, although without oysters (it was May, a month without an r). It was good. Luckily we had a reservation because the place was packed. This restaurant is only open in summer.

The biggest surprise I have had during my trip in Norway is the poor service restaurants have in this country. Food can be good or less good but the service is if not rude unprofessional. The only exception I found has been this restaurant in Oslo. Too crowded for being recommended, with a medium low quality of food, tasteless seafood... More

We went to have dinner at this restaurant a little past the opening hour..and it was filling fast! So we suggest making a reservation in advance. The service was excellent, nothing was missing. We tried the three-course menu and the monkfish a la carte. Both were amazing! We didn't try the oysters or other raw fish, but we saw the... More
