Solsiden Restaurant is a seafood restaurant where we use only the best raw materials the coast has to offer. Besides a variety of different fish we always have "Plateau des Fruits de Mer" on the menu. This is our specialty consisting of oysters, clams, crabs, mussels, shrimp, crayfish (when they are available fresh), lobster and king crab. The dishes can be accompanied by one of the over 250 wines from our wine menu. Solsiden Restaurant is located on Akershusstranda right below Akershus Fortress. Enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Oslo Fjord through the windows and open sliding doors. Here Oslo harbor is like a marine painting that changes from minute to minute. Welcome and Bon Appetit!

Nice restaurant by the sea. Shellfish and fish are the speciality here. To be remembered for the good choice of wines. Been there for work and arranged a fixed menu with starter and two course plus an unlimited choice of white wines from all over the world

We went to have dinner at this restaurant a little past the opening hour..and it was filling fast! So we suggest making a reservation in advance. The service was excellent, nothing was missing. We tried the three-course menu and the monkfish a la carte. Both were amazing! We didn't try the oysters or other raw fish, but we saw the... More

This is a nice restaurant with a great view of the lake/fjord. The food was nice - try the seafood platter! The monkfish and the halibut were absolutely delicious! Service was efficient considering it was a busy Saturday night when we went. I recommend this restaurant for a great night out.

Food was good. Obvious that the waiter/waitress wanted to be somewhere else, no smiles and no follow up. Also, came first and took 50 minutes to get served. Good view and perfect weather.

Took many business visitors there -- for the nice view , but I never go there myself. Mostly famous for its seafood platter, but the quality is very volatile -- sometimes even very poor. Service quality is just average, and the price for the view is obviously very high.

Nice place where the service are excellent and the food very good. You are treated very well, and they ensure that you feel comfortable. No push for expensive wine ( not easy in Norway!) or other schemes. Just a great evening, hosted by friendly hosts.

Party of 16 having dinner. Starter was salmon in a good presentation. The following hallibut was just great. Choice of white wine was also good, as was the service. Only minus was desert - fresh fruits that were ok, but far too boring to excite

Great place to come and eat sea food in the summer. We had the seafood platter for 2 and it's a great choice with plenty of good seafood.

We had the set menu so the choice was more limited but the food was great. We were served wine to match our courses which, again, was fantastic; the Chardonnay we had with the starter was excellent (and I rarely like Chardonnay). The setting overlooking the harbour and fjord was stunning although we wee sat on the other side of... More

Visited with my mum and we loved it. The waiters, Anton and Oscar I think, both bald with moustaches, were attentive, funny and lovely. The food was delicious if a bit unoriginal, first class produce. We had the scallops and crayfish au gratin for starters, the turbot as a main course and the dessert of the day. We really enjoyed...
