Description: Solsiden Restaurant is a seafood restaurant where we use only the best raw...
Solsiden Restaurant is a seafood restaurant where we use only the best raw materials the coast has to offer. Besides a variety of different fish we always have "Plateau des Fruits de Mer" on the menu. This is our specialty consisting of oysters, clams, crabs, mussels, shrimp, crayfish (when they are available fresh), lobster and king crab. The dishes can be accompanied by one of the over 250 wines from our wine menu. Solsiden Restaurant is located on Akershusstranda right below Akershus Fortress. Enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Oslo Fjord through the windows and open sliding doors. Here Oslo harbor is like a marine painting that changes from minute to minute. Welcome and Bon Appetit!

Good seafood and great location at the Oslo harbour

This seafood restaurant is only open during summer. There is a huge terrace in addition to the indoor restaurant. The view of the sea and the rest of the harbour is great. The service was not more than ok, but the seafood is really good. They have a lot of great wines to choose from as well.

Nice restaurant. The food was good although we ordered lobster and it very small to be a main dish. The rest of the food was good, but what spoiled it all was our waiter. He took so long to take our order and we waited over 40 minutes for the main course. Then he just brought the check. Very expensive... More

We had a very nice dinner at the Solsiden. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We, ladies, had the 3-course menu which was very nice and not so expensive for Norvegian standards. The men in our group had the seafood platter and they enjoyed it very much.

On a nice summer evening there is no better location in Oslo. Our waiters were attentive and swift. The dishes came in fact too quick:) We (2 persons) had the menu of the day. Three courses with a good bottle of Riesling, two beers and a 4 cl "digestive" each was about NOK 2200 incl. tip. Not cheap but certainly... More

Went there with 5 colleagues and had various seafood starters and then the famous Shellfish platter for main course. I had 6 Fresh oysters as starters, served with lemon wedges and a small bowl of Mignonette (red wine vinegar mixed with finely chopped shallot). The oysters were quite meatfull, definitely very good! We also ordered Magnum bottles of 2013 Pouilly... More

Great location on the seaside - although it was raining :( Both our first dishes were outstanding. I had an excellent second dish (salmon), but my wife' steamed lobster was cold and not to her taste. Both our deserts were outstanding too. The house white wine (Sancerre) was excellent. The service was friendly but not fast - don't go there... More
