Great seafood

Nice seafood restaurant, busy and popular located on the sun side harbour of Oslo right beside Fortress of Akershus. Nice dishes in combination with some god recommended white wine. Great service from the staff.

Horrible, the food, the service, the price - all of them! I had half lobster, which literally meant that - they boiled a lobster, cut it in half, put on a plate (with all its insides boiled into green mesh still in it - disgusting) and put an empty piece of bread next to it. The waiter was pissed off... More

It's expensive, and you have to book well in advance, but it's definitely worth it. Classy place, great location by Aker Brygge and the food is a dream!

Beautiful setting on the water is matched by excellent food and service. We had been out touring on bicycles and were a little under dressed but they were very gracious and served us. WE are glad we didn't miss it.

Best service I have received in Scandanavia was at this lovely restaraunt. The outside is completely understated, but the views and food are surpurb. I would definitely recommend dining there to anyone visiting Oslo.

Located is in the far corner of Oslo quay harbour, Solsiden doesn't look particularly attractive from the outside. Inside however the restaurant looks cozy yet modern. I had salmon with vegetables and cauliflower purée, which was tasty, however the portion was small and the price tag was even above Oslo's average, which is pretty high! Overall I had a nice... Our family came when the restaurant was at its busiest shift, afraid that we could not get any table but luckily they have one! The Hack fish was the star, and Salmon dish were very nice also. we wanted to try the seafood big platter but they only sell minimum for 2.

We came to this restaurant after a recommendation by locals to make use of this place's short season and were not disappointed. We had the seafood platter for 2 people and ended up with a mountain of shellfish, crabs, lobster, scallops, oysters and muscles, all of which were excellent. And so, this restaurant will give all of the good reasons... More

Some restaurants as well situated as Solsiden might rest on the wonderful views of Oslo Harbor. Thankfully, they do not. The fish was fresh and well-prepared and service was friendly and efficient. By the stratospheric standards of Oslo restaurants, where $30 hamburgers are the norm, the prices were high, but not outrageous.

All the people in my group loved the place, its decoration, its view. We had a table with waterfront view. Our waitress was nice. Place was full so reserve before going there. Food was really good. Prices are outrageous. We had the seafood platter and it was great. Good wines too.
