This is a great local bakery. There is not a whole lot of seating, but the breads and the baked goods are among the best on Oslo.
The café (on of the four within the Åpent Bakeri-chain) is located in a very nice, quiet and green area. They have a great selection of tasty bread, loaf etc. and an outdoor serving area with a view on a square. The majority of the customers seem to be the locals. Try their bread roll with müsli with strawberry jam... More
This bakery chain that you can find on a few places around Oslo delivers really good bread. Many times I've bought the "Rustique" on my way home for breakfast, it's a levain that usually was delicious. Sometimes they overdid it in the oven though and they turned out a bit dark. An autumn some years ago they even had a... More
Nice place few steps away from the queen's park, affordable prices, with a selection of salads, sandwiches, pastries, coffee and bread. Nothing special, good for the breakfast or quick lunch. Scandinavian 'woody' atmosphere, essential, easygoing and do-it-yourself.
Great location near the Palace and the grounds, so great to look out from. Great coffee and baked goods. We required a gluten free option and the Manageress was very helpful. Chef created a new salad just for us (well, it was not on the menu anyway) which was tasty. Will drop in again next time i visit Oslo, and... More
Uptight flat service. Announced as a place to get eco items. They had only one. Waste of time. Coffee was just okey.
I ate at the Apent Bakeri at Damplassen this past weekend and I found it just charming! The assortment of baked goods is really nice and I loved the coffee. I will have to say it was so full of people it was for my two friends and I to find a place to sit down. I suppose I can... More
Two words: Reindeer Pizza Personally, I find most pizza in Norway to be rather lackluster in comparison to both America and mainland Europe (except for Belgium... never get pizza in Belgium). However, this place, single-handedly, changed my mind. During the day, it's a mild-mannered, bakery with unbelievable bread and pastries (good apple juice, too). However, at night, it goes sorta... I buy bread here every other week, they have a large selection of a very high quality. Around lunch time expect a few minutes waiting time since this is a very popular place, and for good reason!
Stopped here en route from Oslo Airport to Sweden as it was featured on a recent 'Hairy Biker's' TV series. Firstly, our Sat Nav had a nightmare finding it. It was nowhere near where we should have been (ended up in a hospital car park!). I would have thought that given the BBC gave this bakery considerable airtime there would... More
