For starters we had St Kristina ham from Tynset, with a glas of champagne (les Mesnil, don't remember producer, but fullbodied and delicious). I had a milk poached halibut with roasted pine nuts and beurre blanc. Yum! Along with a glass of red bourgogne (a great Santenay). My wife had roasted arctic char with a delicious shellfish risotto. The place... More

Raadhus garden My wife and myself went here for lunch in the garden area in late May. The weather was amazing and the garden is a lovely environment, but then it went downhill from there. Upon arrival we were not greeted by any staff member we had to approach a member of staff to get a table in an empty... More

We only had one night in Oslo on this visit and had not booked anywhere for dinner. Everywhere we tried was full / fully booked until we found Gamle Raadhus. There were several empty tables and I suppose that should have told us something. On the plus side, the food was delicious and well presented. Expensive but not overly so.... More

"the oldest restaurant in oslo" it boasts. pity it's stuck midway between the 70's and 80's of taste and inadequate service. very stuffy environment with aged carpet flooring and old fabric covered stalls and chairs. There were 2 people in the restaurant (3 counting me) and they couldn't give the wifi password because it would crash. Had I not been... More

Interesting history about the history of the building and the area told to us by the waitress. Food is good, in great combination with wine also served by a knowlegdable waitress. The restaurant has its own ghost, however none of us did see it (neither had the waitress).

A nice place to sit with a good atmosphere, excellent 3 course dinner, good service, good location in the middle of the city.

Billed as the oldest continuously running restaurant in Oslo, it is definitely the place of our best meal out on the town. The decor was a bit stuffy and the service was a bit slow, but the food was definitely worth it. Our waitress was very helpful pairing wines with the menu offerings. The host was also very knowledgeable about... More

near the port of Oslo is full of various styles of venues filled in the evening. The most loved restaurant in the old town hall building - great atmosphere, good food and composed of a historic building with a friendly service that we will have made a poorly remembrance romantic dinner well before order a suitable place - particularly the... Went for a family birthday celebration having booked for early evening. Main courses had not arrived after two hours despite no other customers in the restaurant, it seemed waiter was on duty but not the kitchen staff. Eye watering prices for the starters, NOK 135 - 150, which in one instancecconsisted of one (!!!) shelled crayfish and a little jus,... More

Came here for lunch on a cold winterday in Oslo. Nice seating next to the fireplace and a very well-tasting lunch of the day (monkfish sandwich if I remember correctly) which cost NOK 150. I will go back here again.
