Fun Irish Saturday Night

Last night in Oslo during my Norwegian holiday and conveniently across from Oslo Central Hostel, I and another traveler decided to grab a beer here...actually one since Norway is so expensive. About $12 USD for each beer - ouch. There was a 10K cover to enter since there was an Irish folk band... read more

We enjoyed our late afternoon dinner at Dubliner's. I had the salmon filet - which was absolutely wonderful. It came with sweet potato fries, red cabbage, smashed peas and a great sauce. Also enjoyed their house red wine. They had many of the traditional Irish dishes - including bangers and mash. It wasn't too busy on a Sunday afternoon. Many... More

Having walked a tourist route of Oslo for about 6 miles in scorching sunshine I stumbled across this authentic looking Irish pub and ordered what turned out to be an excellent frydenlund pale ale. It was relatively empty when I visited and there was no live music at that time but the music playing in the bar was excellent. A... More

We wanted something rather continental/American as we were hungry from 36 hours of travel and wanted something substantial. The Dubliner met our expectations and then some. For the high prices found in Norway, this was very reasonable considering the size of the portions. About $85 was the total for 3 large entrees and 2 beers.

The atmosphere is authentic and hectic in a good way. The food is really good pub food and they have two great vegetarian and vegan options. (They also serve Guinness at the right temperature, and not too cold)

It's fair to say that I've been a guest of the Dubliner more than once. The place consists of a series of bars where you have live music in the main area, shuffleboard in the back, a Whiskybar and a nice little secluded area as well - all connected by a little outside area for smokers. As many other reviewers... More

Really nice place! It's an Irish bar like bars in Ireland are Irish bars. I've been to Dublin (the actual town in Ireland) many times and I really think The Dubliner is the closest to a good old pub like The Brazen head etc we have here.

It seems amazing to have so many Irish pubs in the heart of Oslo, and those from the fair isle would go green with envy. The Dubliner is a good Irish pub, and all that goes with it. I am still trying to recall if the Vikings took a whole load of Irish home with them, just so that they... More

Went in solo for a quick bite to eat, had excellent fish and chips and some IPAs. The Scottish bar maid was quick and attentive and also happy to have some conversation between customers.

McDonalds and Irish pubs. If you can't find one you are really off the beaten track. I had few beer after dinner on Saturday evening in Dubliner. Place is actually quite big with lot's of small rooms one after another. Local Irish folk musicians gathered there to play for fun which was very nice. Does it every Saturday I heard.... More
