A very good standard for a hotel

We ate from the bar menu upstairs. It is fairly limited but sufficient for a good evening dinner. We both chose the burger and were surprised that it was beautifully presented on a wooden plate with a "Jenga" of fries, coleslaw and ketchup. The beer was also reasonably priced for a hotel bar. It... read more

We came here for dinner as a group of 4 in February. We paid 1840 NOK = £149 for one bottle of wine, 4 mains, and 2 desserts, and we ordered the cheapest bottle of white wine at £45. 3 of us had the Roast Board, which was nice, but seemed quite small for 300NOK, and quite inconsistent, with one... My wife and I loved this restaurant. The service was fantastic and combined with the views we just felt so comfortable. Normally I can't wait to get out of a restaurant, but the staff were so pleasant and the food delicious we stayed for ages. The seafood was well cooked, succulent. All the courses same at just the right time... More

Ate here with an expectation based on reviews and local advertising. Sorely disappointed. Advised by waitress that main course selected option not available. Opted for the roast board only to be advised that the beef rib had been substituted with a lamb sausage! No mention of change in cost either. Ordered anyway only to have the burger element of the... Located in the Ishavhotel this restaurant offers variety of local and international foods. We really enjoyed a veal entrecotes perfectly cooked and accompanied with Italian wine. Also desert was very delicious. Prices are at the upper level (as usual in Norway and Tromsø). Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere and breathtaking view to the harbour.

We went for dinner in this restaurant the first evening as we stayed in the Scandic Ishavshotel. Selection of wine is very good. The service is very good and friendly. The food is also very good, we just regret the small quantity of the starters.

I am always nervous of restaurants in hotels. My concern was misplaced. We had a lovely dinner, looking out over Tromsø harbour. Reindeer for me (someone has to eat render to keep the numbers down) halibut, seared, keeping all the flavour for my partner. Service smooth and effective. The only quibble is that the entrance from the hotel lobby looks... More

roast bar upstairs has cool music, relaxing sofas and limited food range like Cesar salad and burger and fries. It's quite a nice place because of the very comfortable sofas. Didn't like the Cremer brûlée desert because it was cold. The restaurant itself only opens at 6pm which is late by all other standards

At Roast you can chose either the Self Service option, or the served Lunch at the bar upstairs. We decided for the Self Service, because there is a lot of choice, and the price is fixed around Nok 360 ( excluded beverages). You can help yourself how many times you want.Good selection of fish (Salmon was excellent), fresh cheese, meat,... More

On our first free day in Tromso we eat at our Hotel, the in house restaurant ROAST was an excellent experience. Scrummy food and to be fair not over priced (which did surprise me!).great staff and great view made for an excellent evening.
