We arrived late at the hotel and everything was ready. We had asked in advance for a kettle to be in the room and despite having this confirmed by email, when we arrived there we were told there were none available for the duration of our stay. The hotel is currently under going external renovation, covered in scaffolding and the... More

We stayed for 1 night in februar because we we travelling around. At the arrival, the personel was not that kind, it took very long before we could have our room, also in the bar, people left dirty glasses and plates (because you could, and we did eat a snackj there) and they stayed on the table for longtime, even... I'm a vegetarian and was really struggling to find anything to eat in Tromso. The restaurant at Rica Ishavshotell (where we were staying), were very accommodating and made a special vegie dish for me. It was delicious. And the view is beautiful too.

I did not stay at this hotel but had a wonderful Scandinavian breakfast buffet there. For 195 kroner, the variety and quality of food was excellent. There were many types of smoked fish, fruits and salads, meats, cheeses and yoghurts, smoothies, waffles and pancakes, and the usual array of hot breakfast eggs, bacon, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, etc. Of course, I... It's got lovely views and a good short menu of local goodies...also seems to have a fixed menu for around 559 NOK but the waiter was confused about it and eventually returned to tell us what it was but still no idea ..he was so vague it should have been written down. Expensive but not out of line with elsewhere.... More

The location is excellent as it is only a few minutes walk to most first-rated restaurants here in Tromso. The meeting points for most of the tours and what's more important, the room is very well decorated with a very comfortable bed.

Have not spent any night at the hotel but I have enjoyed what I think is the best bar in the whole town. Situated on the fourth floor it's called "skipsbrua" (the bridge) because it's situated at the end of this cruisership shaped hotel situated just at the edge of the shoreline. The bridge offers revellers the best view in... More

We have eaten at many just-OK and several very good restaurants all across Norway. The Brasseriet Restaurant--which serves several local fish dishes, many tapas plates, reindeer, veal and elk--is an excellent restaurant view right on Tromso's harbor waterfront. We started our meal with a complimentary combination of a local mushroom, a small boiled egg from a local quail-type bird and... More
