Egon Tromso is a nice and charming restaurant in the heart of Tromso city. The atmosphere is built on old Norwegian culture, with artifacts from Tromsø's beginning.I you live at the Thon hotel Polar you'll eat our breakfast wich is included for the hotel guests. We have a wide menu, which includes everything from light snacks, to rich main courses. We also have a large selection of desserts, where both bananasplit and oreocake are sure winners. For the children we have child menu, a playing area, with games, movies, balloons and a Egon activity booklet. Our motto is "Everybody belongs at Egon".

Nice place with typical Norwegian prices

The food was good, nice bite to eat. Some of the prices for starters a bit steep - even for Norway - but their food is nice.

we had trouble getting a good place for dinner as it was weekend. those top notch restaurants were all fully booked. we walked and found Egon- free seating, language friendly menu, order and pay first, wait for our dinner. Portion are big (for me) thus, we shared a main meal and an appetizer. A more casual dinning, cosy and warm.... More

If your hotel doesn't do breakfast, this is the place. If you are travelling alone and don't want to sit in place where you feel conspicuous, this is the place. Food is fine and well priced for Norway.

Lunch set is value for money. Price is relatively inexpensive when compared with other restaurants in Tromsø. Food was good. Staff were nice. I went to Egon twice in visit to Tromsø.

Egon has several advantages, long opening hours, a diverse menu to suit most peoples tastes and they are not too expensive by Norwegian standards. But they seem to have a problem dealing with larger groups due to the need to go up to the counter and order individually we found that although our groups orders were taken only a couple... More

Easy review - a must if you like the classic Scandanavian breakfasts of breads, cold meats, fish, salads, cheeses, cereals (about 20 different) and hot potatoes, eggs, bacons - I could go on - decent value too, especially as some hotels (such as City Living) do a deal with them

Good choice of food, burgers, fish, chicken etc. Had a meal here for our grand daughters 16th birthday, not overly expensive by Norwegian standards, nice atmosphere & our grand daughter got a free dessert as it was her birthday. Went back for lunch later in the week too. Would go again.
