Description: Just like its more mature Harstad sibling (1996), this Tromsø-restaurant...
Just like its more mature Harstad sibling (1996), this Tromsø-restaurant celebrates the French and Italian love of food, but gives it a North Norwegian character. The obvious focus for De 4 Roser is, of course, on the combination of food, wine and service. Local suppliers and local produce is an important factor in the menu. De 4 Roser can seat 60 and features a contemporary kitchen and an interior that is both simple and austere. This is an excellent venue for both small and large occasions. The first floor café is designed in a European style and the coffee and lunch menus are just as good as in Harstad. A dinner and large drinks menu is also available. Food is served daily from 10 am.

So far, I have been twice which is s good review in itself. Modern, fresh, local food. This place is actually full of Tromso-ians catching up for a coffee or having meetings as the food is good and the price is good. The menu is written on a blackboard and changes often, they also have s breakfast menu until 3pm.

Came here twice because it is just opposite the Comfort Xpress hotel that I was staying at. No English menu but the waitress gladly translated it for me. The second time I figured out the Norweigian menu (the name sounds similar to English when you say it out). Portions are rather big. Simple and relaxed atmosphere (though I had to... More

We dined here for a romantic evening meal. We ate in the upstairs restaurant and chose the four course option. The highlight for me was the beautiful rhubarb dessert they offer. A surprising treat was the blood orange palate cleanser we had which was gorgeous! We ate here because we wanted to try some Norwegian good and this certainly delivered.

Opposite Comfort Hotel Express this is really handy for breakfast. Menu in Norwegian but the staff will help translate. They have breakfasts to suit a range of tastes including Italian, English, Fruit and Omelettes. Omelettes are really good and they can do a veggie version. Comes with nice salad. Coffee great too.

Nice central location with good food. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Eat downstairs for great tasting food at a more reasonable cost. A delicious and hearty serving of fish soup packed with cod, prawns & mussels, perfect on a cold March evening in Norway and the simple pan fried cod with seasonal veg was just as yummy. The service was extremely friendly & helpful too.

Me and my friends bought the 4 course set, and though it hurt my wallet a bit, the experience and the food made me forget all about it. The service was excellent and the waiter explained every so slight detail about the food without dragging it for too long. And the food, my good the food was superb. At first... More

I had high expectations of De 4 Roser, having heard some good things about it. I do have to say that the staff was very friendly. But the food wasn't impressive. I ate in the downstairs area, thus didn't have the multi-course meal that is served upstairs. I got a hamburger, for which they are apparently known. The plate was... More
