Description: Just like its more mature Harstad sibling (1996), this Tromsø-restaurant...
Just like its more mature Harstad sibling (1996), this Tromsø-restaurant celebrates the French and Italian love of food, but gives it a North Norwegian character. The obvious focus for De 4 Roser is, of course, on the combination of food, wine and service. Local suppliers and local produce is an important factor in the menu. De 4 Roser can seat 60 and features a contemporary kitchen and an interior that is both simple and austere. This is an excellent venue for both small and large occasions. The first floor café is designed in a European style and the coffee and lunch menus are just as good as in Harstad. A dinner and large drinks menu is also available. Food is served daily from 10 am.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for breakfast and gave us a 20% off coupon. Even with that, paying 272 NOK for breakfast for two was pricey. Later, we found out that even breakfast special at McDonalds was advertised for 115 NOK, and 7-11 Hot Dog special was 29 NOK (1 USD = 8 NOK) Once we were beyond the sticker... More

I have spent a fortune here. I no longer eat here so often but it was very good until Nicklas the Danish chef left. In the years 2010 - 2013 i ate in the cafe almost daily and sometimes several times per day. in 2014 i ate here less but have taken my staff here for Julebord every Yultid for... More

Have only tried this place for lunch (in the café on the ground floor), but I am really satisfied with both food and the coffee. They have a fixed menu for breakfast and lunch in addition to dishes of the day. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. Can really recommend this place for breakfast/brunch/lunch or simply a cup of... More

We were only there for breakfast and were not pleased. The scrambled eggs tasted like they were fried in lard and the bacon was slices of ham, the sausages were unrecognizable and generally tasteless. The only thing good on the plate was the fried potatoes and the small bowl of pork and beans. I was told the beans are part... More

Very nice atmosphere and very good food! English is no problem for the staff. The menu is in Norwegian though, luckily the language isn't too difficult :) and you can always ask for help.

Ordered fish soup and mexican hamburger. Fish soup tasted nice but to hot and had only one type of fish. Kind of boring. The burger tasted ok but it was a bit dry and the bread had been in the oven to long (difficult to cut with knife).

The cafe is often full at lunchtime, but they really deliver quick enough anyway. We ordered the Skagen sandwich. A LOT of fresk prawns and smoked salmon. A lot of food, and very delicious as it always is. Can recommend the soups and sallads too. A bit noisy when filled with people, try to get a seat near the windows.... More

Research on Tripadvisor was the reason for our choice of restaurant for our one night in Tromsø. We nevertheless were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The food was excellent, the service outstanding and we were all very pleased after this memorable meal. Prices were not unreasonable. Would like to revisit if going to the city again.

So far, I have been twice which is s good review in itself. Modern, fresh, local food. This place is actually full of Tromso-ians catching up for a coffee or having meetings as the food is good and the price is good. The menu is written on a blackboard and changes often, they also have s breakfast menu until 3pm.
