We had a magnificent dinner at this restaurant. Attentive staff, good food, knowledge of gluten-free options on the menu. Really enjoyed the whole experince, if in Lillehammer you must eat here!

We have been here several times and the food and service are always at it's best. The chef have worked for several years with the first Scandinavian gold medal winner in Bocuse d'Or, Bent Stiansen. This place is a must if you visit Lillehammer!

We visited the restaurant with our two children of 8 and 11. We were placed in the middle of the room, where a cosy athmosphere was created by four chairs with immense chair backs. Service was excellent: The waiters where well-informed and polite. The food and wine was a non-stop highlight. The restaurant has half prices for children-menu's, which is... More

If not the food always is bankers, it may be served in the most save place to eat. In the old bank deposit room.

Food, service and ambience couldn't be faulted, a surprise to find that quality of food here. Stuck to the suggested menu, no need to go a la carte. Bill was still a bit of a shock even by Norwegian stands, be prepared but don't avoid.

This is my favorite restaurant of the 10 days I spent in Norway! The meal was rich and good portion sized. The wine list great too. A bit expensive, but worth it. The ambiance is great!

We had a three course dinner here. Wonderful food, served nicely and a fascinating room. A former bank where you could see where they kept the money in former times.

It must be the bane of every hard-working kitchen in the world...to turn out very good food, only to have your efforts undermined by a waitstaff that is not of the same caliber. And so it was with our dining experience at Hvelvet. i suppose they tried but in the end, they did not manage. Lillehammer is a rather small... More

When I arrived in Lillehammer, I never imagined that we would come across such a fine restaurant. The restaurant is housed in what used to be a bank. Hence the name "Hvelvet" which translates to "The Vault". In the menu, you will find an interesting story about how that very building held within its walls all of the gold in... More
