Wonderful

This place was great. Beautiful ambience, great food and wine selection and best of all: our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive and had a great sense of humor. We had wine, a main course and dessert and it was delicious!!

Like other reviewers, stumbled across Wiener while exploring Wien one evening. The bar scene drew us in, the food had us stay! Fun atmosphere and nice selection of well prepared dining options.

We had such fun at Wiener! The food was delicious, our family of five ordered and shared our entrees, family style! Our waiter was hysterical. He made us laugh every time he came to the table .. incredibly friendly and engaging. We were amazed at the way the restaurant was organized. Two waiters seemed to cover the entire place and... You would not expect to find this kind of restaurant in this small street. Modern and nice decoration. Service friendly and quick. Very good schnitzels (normal or veal). Desserts big enough to share.

We picked that restaurant as usual based on reviews and our location that evening. The location is quite something to find. We like our choice of dishes, well presented and reasonably price. We feel that it was overwhelming for 1 person to be serving all the tables but fortunately we were not in a hurry. The service slowed down at... More

First of all, the food at this restaurant was very good and a good price. If it weren't for the service, I'd rate this a 5, but the service was extremely slow as they had one server and a bartender who was helping him out for the whole restaurant and the kitchen was very slow. We were essentially ignored and... More

we were recommended this spot by the Altstadt Hotel. it was a little out of the way to find. but what a find. the staff was limited but extremely attentive to our needs. three different rooms with the main room for smaller parties. we enjoyed it so much that we returned two nights later for another go. we kept seeing... We tried Wiener on the suggestion of our hotel (Hotel Altstadt) for dinner our first night in Vienna. We were very happy with our meal. We started with the spinach strudel which had me wanting to lick the plate. Entrees were the beef filet with bread dumplings and the sea bass with vegetables, and for dessert we had the strawberry... We (2 couples) went to this restaurant using trip advisor. Exceeded our high expectations, potato cakes and spinach strudel starters were very good. The Wiener Schnitzel was superb. Atmosphere and friendly service completed the evening. Extremely good value.

Had dinner here on our last night in Vienna. It was close to where were were staying in Mariahhilfestrasse. The decor was cosy and the waiter attentive. The food was fantastic. Spinach strudel with herby, melted sheep's cheese sauce and a pasta and ham bake that was melt in the mouth good. But best of all were the deserts. Nougat... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
