Lively place with pub food and good atmosphere

Stopped here for dinner because of the nice area the restaurant is in. They serve good pub food in quite big portions. I could never empty my plate here. :). The staff is very nice and helpfull and the atmosphere is great.

I visited this restaurant more than once, and was never disappointed. The spare ribs are excellent and there are many plates to choose from. We really liked the "1 meter of Vienna", which had 6 classic dishes of Vienna. The beer selection is adequate (bottled and on tap). The staff was helpful in general and the atmosphere was ok. Rediculous portion sizes, I mean overwhelming. The soup in the bread bowl was really tasty but too much to eat for a starter. They'd have been better concentrating on making the shnitzels more tasty, rather than given you 1kg of chips on the side of two massive and dry shnitzels with a plate of pickled "side" salad. Laughed my way... More

Large portions, tasty food, affordable prices. Sometimes the crowd inside gets a bit loud, but it is its charm.

Some food was overcooked, other was undercooked. The waitress forgot what we orderd even if it where only 3 tables occupied. We had to go look for her to ask for the bill. She ignored us for 15 minutes, then she took order for other 2 tables near us, still ignoring us. After another 15 minutes to we went at... More

It was more than i expected. I had the soup of the house which is potato soup and it was delicious and great for winter. The dark beer was good and for dessert I had Nougatknödel which was amazing. The Waiter was really helpfull, he gave me a menu with photos, solve all my questions and help me decide what... More

Me and two friends visited after it was recommended by our hotel and wish we hadn't of bothered. We were seated soon enough in the non smoking area, ordered the sharing platter to start, two centimetre burgers and a cordon bleu schnitzel. Our starters arrived quickly enough, which was a plate of burnt to a crisp onion rings, potatoe wedges... More

Spent an evening here to keep out of the snow. Great local bar with great selection of beers and a decent food menu. The English menu shows pictures of the dishes which helps. I had a medium ribs which was tasty, good value and a huge portion. Staff were friendly and helpful. Make sure you try the Hazelnut Schnapps... It's... More

We chose this place without any prior knowledge, just been passing on a tram in the evening looking for a place to sit and get something to eat/drink. We liked the name of this place, so we got in. The only thing I may say is not perfect is the design (a bit simplistic), but this is very subjective. We... More

Staying in Wahring

Neighborhood Profile
Wahring
The 18th district is the most inconspicuous of the listed neighborhoods. Where else can you still watch card players at a Viennese coffeehouse, or listen to authentic Viennese folk songs with a local audience? Like most respected Viennese neighborhoods, Währing has its own street market, Kutschkermarkt, where you can best feel its pulse. One of Währing’s loveliest outdoor destinations is the small garden palace and museum Geymüllerschlössel. The exquisite 19th century interior is spiced up by contemporary art installations curated by the Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art (MAK).
