We were in Vienna for a few days and staying at Pension Kreml around the corner. Our good fortune was finding Steman. Moderate prices and attentive service, and for smaller eaters we were perfectly satisfied sharing a single entree. Good beer and wine. So good we came back a second time. Make a reservation, it's worth it.

A couple of us recently dinned at Steman's, since it was highly recommended on this portal. I have to say, the recommendations do them justice. The service was very nice, and the place has an authentic viennese look to it. We had Käsespätzle mit Speck, a traditional dish, and a "classic" - Wienerschnitzel with potato salad. The portions were generous... More

On a recent visit to Vienna my wife and I ate here 3 times. We would have come 4 or 5 times but they are closed on Weekends. The food was beautifully cooked and the portions plenty large enough. An English menu is available so no language problems. The staff are very friendly and helpful and will translate the "Specials"... More

We stayed in the neighborhood on vacation and therefore could walk to Steman. It became a favorite. They have great goulash and schnitzel.

I had lunch on the terrace at the Steman earlier this week as I had a meeting in the neighbourhood. I had the day's menu (7,50 euros for a starter + main course : can you beat that?) perfectly described by our lovely and friendly waiter who made our time there really pleasant. The food was traditional, simple, tasty. No... More

Having arrived in Vienna late afternoon and settled into our accommodation, food became the next most important thing. Our apartment owner recommended Stemans as his first choice based in proximity to us (6th region), price, quality of food and the opportunity of a 'local' experience. Stemans did not disappoint. The staff were excellent (in the course of our meal) we... More

This place is located just of a busy shopping street. As the weather was very good, we chose to sit outside. Service was a little bit slow, but friendly. The food was very good: I had the goulash, which was very flavoursome and my girlfriend had the mushroom escalope which was also very good (perhaps a bit too salty, but... More

Lovely place that takes you back to the 1930's. Not many tourists, mostly locals. Brilliant beer and spaztle!! Goulash is also excellent.

A friend who has been living in Vienna for 6 years met my husband and I at Steman. We are far from wine experts, but we had the best wine we'd ever tasted (a Muskateller) and the food was fantastic. I had my favourite Austrian meal - Käsespätzle (8.50 euros) and it was just like Oma used to make... maybe... More
