Great place to stop for a coffee and cake - the restaurant has a nice terrasse in the sun, great for relaxing. A bit pricy, but okay.

We were a big party, and the concept was "buffet". When inversed, it is because there were two alternatives for starter, two for main and two for desserts. That is not a buffet in my book. A buffet is wher your fancies are challenged by the choices you have. If the six dishes were amazing, I guess one would have... More

The glass building around you, full of trees and specially palms, creates a really nice atmosphere, preparing your senses for a nice food and wine. Located in the very center of Vienna, inside a park, it is a really good choice for relaxing in a different environment. We were lucky being there in a sunny day, but I can imagine... More

I give this a very strong four stars. The food was good, not amazing, but very solid, certainly a place I'd be happy to return to. The atmosphere was nice, the area as well. The staff was very friendly. I started with a tomato soup off the daily specials menu. This was rather spicy for my taste. I then had... More

Very characteristic location in a liberty flower house in hofburg palace. The good is very good the meat excellent and the choice of wine very wide particularly for Austrian wine. The only thing I do not like is the furniture inside that are not the level of the place and look very cheap.

The old conservatory is very picturesque and the tall palms and light streaming in through beautiful glass and ironwork is an elegant surrounding for a lovely lunch. I am a sucker for foliage, so enthusiastically admired the lovely scenery. We had a simple schnitzel with the traditional potato and cucumber sides; it was very tender and a simple dish done... More

There was almost no one else at Palmenhaus on the night we chose to go for dinner. Our server was very attentive, but also gave us enough space that we didn't feel like he was hovering. He was very good at suggesting plates based on what we said we were looking for, and he did not just use the opportunity... More

We met a friend for lunch here and found it to be very comfortable for an unhurried two hour chat. The service was attentive but left us alone when we didn't need anything. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. The setting was unconventional and pleasant.

Have to agree with the comments already made regarding the setting, as it is beautiful. Set in a park literally a stone's throw from the Vienna State Opera House it couldn't be easier to find. The building itself is stunning, mixture of glass, plants and high ceilings. Had made the reservation online a few weeks in advance by emailing office@palmenhaus.at... More

After settling in a bit after our 15 hour transit to Vienna from California, we were trying to decide if we should keep our reservation at a fine dining restaurant. Being a bit tired and wanting to dress more relaxed, we called to cancel our reservation and then asked the hotel concierge to recommend a casual but lively and popular... More
