Good Catch-of-the-Day Grill.

In the middle of massive greenhouse, surrounded by various plants with a Butterfly house nearby, you can enjoy good food, kind service and a slow flow of life... Good food, pleasant people around and very eco-friendly ambience - all is contributing to a quality time spent in Palmenhaus!

This restaurant is set within a greenhouse and is a lovely and unique setting - especially when lit up at night or on the terrace in the sun during the day. We started with some lovely prosecco cocktails which I would definitiely recommend. The 'bloody mary' style cold soup for starter was a bit of a let down served in... More

Palmenhaus situation is great and you would think it to be an advantage, but the location alone is not enough. Either we were unlucky or waiter had a bad day. During the service, the service was negligent and ordered drinks Forgot etc. It looked like the job doesn´t intrested him at all... well maybe he just have a bad day.... More

One of the best Al fresco options in Vienna, good service, food is never disappointing, always having the fresh fish from the grill as a light option. Breakfast during winter is a highlight on a sunny day.

Palmenhaus offered a refuge after a morning of sightseeing and escape from the heat. The service was excellent. For a late lunch, I enjoyed the most divine beef carpaccio I have ever had along with a glass of fine prosecco.

We were enchanted to arrive on spec to find the Lippizaner mares and their foals exercising in the Burggarten and then to walk past us on their way to the stables. There is an extensive wine list. A more modest list of food items, but ours were well prepared and tasty.

We LOVED having dinner and drinks here. It was such a great atmosphere, to be sitting outside while sipping Gruner Vetliner and eating Austrian food. Then service was top notch; our waiter was really friendly and gave us some great tips for sightseeing and hanging out. We went back another night for late-night drinks. This is a must-do for anyone... More

The place is good for a chilling moment. The strawberry pancake and the café are good. I didn't like the rosé.

The food was really amazing. We got the catfish, cod, and sea bass and all were quite delicious. The location is right on the edge of a park and the inside of the restaurant has plants and foliage everywhere. Quite cool!

Wondeful historic building (the greenhouse of the Imperial Palace), sitting under palm trees (great in winter) or on the terrace overlooking the Palace Garden… friendly staff… nice food- especially for snacks in between… different beers and good wine-card...

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
