The only place in Vienna where we went twice

Great menu, great choice, and all you ask for comes just right. Service was friendly and just fine. Location is beautiful. Operates late.

Popped in for a light lunch. Waitress' suggestions were on the spot, food was good and service attentive and friendly.

Two of us had a late lunch, midweek on a perfect day, weatherwise. It is a lovely relaxed outside setting, under huge canopy sunshades overlooking the gardens. Our lunch of pork steaks was superb! I had to eat slowly just to make it last longer! Recommend the very refreshing fresh lemon juice with mint on a hot day. Service was... More

Perfect evening out. The staff here super friendly, happy for me to practise my German speaking! Atmosphere of course is the big thing here it's great. The wine and drinks menu have a fantastic selection. Great food. Wiener schnitzel is done perfectly. Also the cheese board selection is a nice one. Elderflower mousse it's light and to die for! No... It is so lovely to sit outdoors at this restaurant looking over the park. For me that was the focus. The menu has a combination of traditional and more international food, and the food was good.

Great ambiance. We had dinner at the terrace with a nice view over the park and the museum of natural history, but the Palmenhaus has a great ambiance inside as well. If you want to try a Wiener schnitzel, this is the perfect place. It tasted delicious.

After an exhausting morning of museum viewing, we decided to have lunch on the outdoor terrace and couldn't have been happier. The setting is wonderful, overlooking a park setting, and the food was very good. Try anything with asparagus and it will be great! I stuck with beef and son had Schnitzel, both good. Waitress was very good and pleasant.... More

We had coffee at around 11.00 and two of our party saw someone eating a particularly large and meaty looking pork chop which prompted us to return at about 3.00 for lunch. The chop admirers were not disappointed and a couple of us had a mixed fish dish which was also very good. Although having said that, it's hard to... More

We visited this stunning structure expecting the inside to represent the outside, but instead found Formica tables with canteen style chairs. No style which was a shame as it could look wonderful with period features. Outside is nice for coffee.

Alongside the glashaus which is mainly used for dinner, this place has a large sunny off-street terrace ideal for lunch with a glass or two of wine. It offers a little respite from the hurly burly of the city centre. Portions are fairly large, mainly local specialities and the white asparagus and salmon requires a healthy appetite. Dining in the... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
