We went there wednesday evening. It was not very busy. We order beef fillet for 24 euro. This was not even 200 grams. Than you have to pay for everything extra. 4.50 for french frieds 3.50 for the sauce 6.5 minimum for the wine of 0.1liter. And the food was good but nothing really special. But what i hated the... We chose to have dinner at this restaurant after reading a recommendation at the hotel we stayed in nearby. We arrived at about 8pm on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and were seated immediately. Most tables were full when we arrived, but it emptied out quite quickly. One couple arrived after 10pm and were still welcomed, however. The menu... More

I went with my husband, we have prawns as an appetizer, very tasty & quite huge. Steak was excellent, juicy & tasty. We definitely go again in my next visit.

We went here for a meal on our silver wedding anniversary. We had already picked it from trip advisor before we went as we wanted somewhere special for the occasion. It was lovely, the only snag we had was that they didn't have any english menus available and our french definitely wasn't proficient enough to get us through - in... More

While this is French food, don't expect heavy sauces - we ate a lovely light meal, much appreciated after a few days of schnitzel. The service was friendly and attentive, the wine list extensive and the prices very reasonable. Strongly recommend.

We went for a Restaurant Week - an event conducted every few months when Viennese restaurants offer a 3-course meals for a set low price. We chose the Salzgries restaurant for a Saturday lunch and that was a perfect choice and a real culmination of the restaurant week. It was a real pleasure sitting outside on a terrace on a... More

If you want good French food with excellent wine I strongly recommend Le Salzgries. The choice of food is limited but the selection of fishes and seafoods is better. The mixed seafoods plates are spectacular. Food is excellent and tasty. Portions are reasonable but my dorade portion was too small. Wines selection is wide and excellent. Servers are not cheap... I have dined at Le Salzgries now a couple of times (on business and private occasions) in the last months and my experience has been consistently good: Excellent cuisine, nice ambiance, acceptable prices and the best of all:Very "un"-french service (i.e. friendly, attentive and competent). Possibilities for improvement: One or two bottles of wine priced below EUR 30,- would ease... More

Certainly the best french restaurant in Vienna. Foie Gras, Moule, Fish, Steaks and hand made French fries. Champagne, great white and red wines. French waiters and delicious desserts. A nice atmosphere and a good choice for a French evening in the heart of Vienna.
