Wonderful French Restaurant

Wonderful hospitality, very reasonable and high quality french food. Exclusively French wine list, with prices spanning the spectrum of 40 to well over 1000 Euros, so something for anyone. We had the lobster bisque and the escargot starters, followed by a shared Cote de boeuf, which was... read more

It was my first night in Vienna and it was very hot outdoors. I wanted someplace that was good, but not stuffy or pretentious, and a restaurant near my hotel. Le Salzgries filled the bill -- we had a table outdoors on a quiet street; the service was attentive and helpful (with the waiters able to converse in German, French,... More

Very good food and wine! But prices on whiskey are too high! I'd recommend this place for dinner! Would definitely go there one more time

Just had a long lunch here. Service was a bit slow, they have even forgotten one of the ordered drinks, but the food was perfect. Amazing fresh oysters, wonderful mussels and delicious fish. Couldn't complain at all. Not cheap though.... But very enjoyable ....

We went there wednesday evening. It was not very busy. We order beef fillet for 24 euro. This was not even 200 grams. Than you have to pay for everything extra. 4.50 for french frieds 3.50 for the sauce 6.5 minimum for the wine of 0.1liter. And the food was good but nothing really special. But what i hated the... We chose to have dinner at this restaurant after reading a recommendation at the hotel we stayed in nearby. We arrived at about 8pm on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and were seated immediately. Most tables were full when we arrived, but it emptied out quite quickly. One couple arrived after 10pm and were still welcomed, however. The menu... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
