We've been there as per trip adviser recommendations. Exactly as expected - good food (a lot of meet), big plate, very nice and quick service. Even teenager kid has finished his dinner. Important to add that this is pub - restaurant, so very good beer and wine are also available

I had Sunday Dinner here. I was lucky enough to sit outside (but inside is semi-cavernous) on a lovely evening. The street was very, very quiet - not sure if that was because of Sunday. The staff was very accommodating as I had a menu alteration and were generous with time. I loved both the fresh mozzarella salad and the... More

I stopped in for lunch with the family. The restaurant is located on a quiet side street near the Cathedral. The insude of the dining room I decorated like a hunting lodge in the woods with lots of dark wood, animals on the walls, etc. You definitely gave the feeling that you are not in the heart of Vienna as... We had dinner at Purstner and we had a very good time. We both had the schnitzel and the salad. Great tasty food, really fast and nice service! We could tell it was a good place as it was a bit hidden out of the touristy path and there were also lots of locals dropping by. If you want some... More

Haven't experienced something like this before. Within the entrance area roughly half a dozen tables where empty. And I am not talking reservations. Still we had been told they were totally maxed out and did not had any room for us. When pointing out the empty spaces, 2 additional waiters joined the conversation on the most unfriendly and disrespectful way... More

My husband and I were in Vienna for 3 nights staying at the Do & Co Hotel. I am made 3 dinner reservations - Purstner, Figmueller, & Plachutta. We wanted to try authentic, traditional dishes during our visit. Purstner did not disappoint. It has amazing ambience. Not in the romantic way but in this classic old school classy pub way.... More

We did not want to leave Vienna without enjoying a Wiener Schnitzel. Purstner is the right place to be for very good (and large!) veal schnitzels. They were delicious!!! and not expensive at all. Friendly staff, nice side orders, relatively low priced food. We had a great evening.

Went here on the recommendation of the Marriott concierge. Very happy we did. Great food, LOTS of it, and great atmosphere.

This is the place to go if you've worked up an appetite seeing the sights. We ate here our first of three nights in Vienna; my wife made the reservation in advance after rightly guessing I'd require wienerschnitzel while in Austria. That's exactly what I had, while my wife had roast pork. Both were great. I liked the traditional parsley... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
