A trully Vienna experience

There are places where you can say you are living the spirit of the city you are in. Purstner is one of those places. Of course it is not the most exotic food in the world. But I`ll tell you this is one of the most honest and agreeable foods I`ve tested in central and northern Europe. And it is... read more

Although it seems to have many rooms, differently decorated but all having the authentic feel (without too much cheesiness), the place is always crowded. Especially when looking for a bigger table it is better to call in advance and make a reservation. The staff is very efficient, not particularly friendly since they are indeed busy and run around like bees.... More

Great restaurant, genuine Austrian food and atmosphere, friendy service. Try the Wiener Schnitzl, it's huge and maybe the best we ever had

Don't expect to eat light here, but the food certainly feels authentic. The restaurant was located conveniently between my hotel and the city center. The ambiance felt similar to a pub - booths with lots of taxidermy. The service was not very friendly or helpful - but they did have an English menu with all allergens lists. I had a... More

Traditional Viennese Cuisine in the City Center. Service is fast and professional. Multilingual menu available. Portions are huge and atmosphere great. Please notice the old stamped bricks (floor) showing a twoheaded eagle. They date back to the Habsburg monarchy, only suppliers to the Austrian Imperial Court (KuK Hoflieferanten) were authorized to use the twoheaded eagle stamp. Reasonably priced. Overall very... More

The Restaurant Puerstner in the City Center offers tradtional Viennese Food such as Wiener Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, Zwiebelrostbraten and Apfel Strudel in the same excellent quality for many devades now. The Service is good as always and the excellent food quality, as well as good sized poetions have not changed, as in most of the other restaurants in Vienna. I... More

This restaurant has lots of wood panelling and some tables are 'inside' old wooden wine barrels. The food is very traditional Austrian, very well done with large portion sizes. The staff are very busy, so don't confuse rushed with rude. They have English menus, but we found it handy to have the German original to hand too, as something seems... More

We spent last Thanksgiving in Vienna and rather than trying to find a turkey we asked our concierge for a restaurant with good meat...the ribs were maybe the best I've ever had - and I've had a lot - and the staff was friendly and the decor fun. Highly recommend.
