The place has an authentic interior but the food was terrible. The four of us ordered different menus but they all looked the same when we had the plates. Nothing wrong with friture but this was far too much. It tasted and looked the same. Don't go there If you want good food. Go there if you're starving.

I am a customer at Pürstner's since 1990 and like going there because of it's excellent traditional VIennese cuisine and the great atmosphere. In the last years though I experienced some decrease in quality, but it was still very good, just not that excellent. But I have been there twice recently and am glad to say that it is definitely... Excellent food, really. Off tourist beaten track. Order the wiener schnitzel or zwiebelrostbraten. Yum! Waiters look so cute in their Lederhosen :D

Top food, well cooked and very large portions. Great soup too. Averagely priced for Vienna, and well worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere traditionally Viennese. Waiters in traditional Austrian outfits, quaintly decorated and all in all a place you won't be disappointed with

We returned to Purstner during a recent trip to Vienna and had another very good meal here. On this occasion we tried the Pork Spare Ribs (€14.60) again and found the meal to be just as it was during our last meal at Purstner The pork was well marinated, succulent and tasty. It came right off the bone and was... More

We go there without booking at 6pm, so lucky that we can get a table for 90min. The interior is decorated with many wild animal, special! The food are delicious and with fair price! I ordered a pork neck meat ( according to the uncle waiter), it is tasty but a bit too tender for me, it come with a... More

This is a great place to go for authentic Austrian cuisine. The price is reasonable too. You should make a reservation or arrive for an early dinner if you do not want to wait.
