Best wiener schnitzel of our trip. Also found one of my new fav beers... the Ottakringer zwickle. Staff were friendly and engaging. Prices more reasonable than most in Vienna. Enjoyed our visit and would return again if in Vienna

We happened to stumble here thanks to trip advisor during our weekend getaway from London. Thankfully the host let us in even though we were near closing time. And we weren't disappointed at all.... The food was yum especially the huuugeeee serving of the spare ribs ! . Having a walk around the place inside exudes the history and it's... More

We left feeling cheated and harrassed. Waiter took advantage of my family and was incredibly rude. Read the bad reviews folks--these guys are rude and mean...eat across the street and avoid this place. What happened? 1. Waiter interrupted my drink order, cut me off and said "two beers and two waters, right?" and scurried off, returning with two large blonde... More

Go here for an authentic taste of Austria, in line with Viennese prices but still a great restaurant that usually needs reservation.

We had a typical Austrian meal here. The restaurant is decorated with dark wood and hunting decor. Our waiter Chris was excellent in recommending and explaining the entrees . The food and atmosphere were excellent. We had an enjoyable fun evening.

Trip Advisor recommended this restaurant as #39 in Vienna at the time, and we were in the mood for Austrian food. We made reservations (which you MUST do!) and were so glad that we did. We chose to eat on the sidewalk, but in hindsight, wish we'd eaten inside, as the inside is decorated quite well like some sort of... More

This is one of the few restaurants I've eaten at where it was not up to my expectations after reading Tripadvisor. It was just ok, but not out of the ordinary given the high ranking on Tripadvisor. Service was friendly and the beer the waiter recommended (Zwickl) was good. On the upside the interior is very charming and quaint.

We had a meal there for 3 portions and can confirm the comments seen elsewhere on this forum - friendly service, good to large portions and tasty Austrian food. I live goulash suppe, something they didn't have on the menu but the other soup was outstanding. Would recommend to visit.

We spent a week end in Wien visiting the city and we wanted to try a real Wiener Schnitzel in a really Austrian place. And that's what we found! The very nice girl at the help desk in our hotel told us to visit Purstner and we were so glad we came back the second night as well. We had... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
