The best Schnitzel in Vienna!

This is our 3rd visit in 3 days and the food continues to be wonderful! The service is perfect and the food and beer equally as good. We have eaten at other places in the city but they can't compare to this. Worth visiting!

I cannot review the food as I did not get in but I can tell the service is poor. I asked the waiter if there is a table for two, straightway he said they are fully booked when the restaurant is so empty inside. One second later the group of four people behind us asking in German if there is... More

The food was just not bad and no better. Blood sausage was clearly over salted, other dishes were not remarkable. Ottakringer beer is impressively below the average brewing level of German speaking countries. Beware of possibility not to find a place there in the evening without reservation. All tables can be reserved even during the weeks day, so for example... More

We ate at many fine restaurants during our week-long stay in Vienna, but this one stands out above all of them. We had a party of five and all ordered different dishes so we could share. EVERYTHING was out-of-this-world delicious! While most in our party refrained from ordering a starter, I opted for the Mixed Salad and one other person... More

We found this on tripadvisor, and read some good and bad reviews. So we took the underground to the city centre and found our way to the Purstner. What a good choice! 2 of the group ordered something Austrian, and I ordered the ribs. What a fantastic choice! We were all happy with the food - especially me. The ribs... More

It is a very nice traditional restaurant in the very centre. Prices are reasonable. Delicious food and beverages. Don't forget to book in advance since you will be never find a table.

From the moment we walked in til we left, my friend and I enjoyed our experience. The outdoor area closed at 11pm so we only had 70 min, but we were done within 55 min so we also had quick and efficient service. Our server, Chris, was lovely and knowledgeable. He was friendly and spoke English well. The two dishes... More

Food here was excellent, as was the beer and wine. We're only aiming for a quick main, ended up a three course lunch, and the accompanying drinks. Good value for money, especially when you consider the amount of food you get. Food vegetarian options, especially the gratin. Restaurant traditional in style, and huge, dark wood used everywhere. Staff friendly. Some... More

It is good place for romantic dinner, hunting lodge decor with painted wood panels, dim lighting. Traditional menu. Veal schnitzel €16,50 was very tasty and large but too expensive. Goulash €11,90 was also tasty but unimaginative, i expected more. To finish off we had mohr im hemd dessert, kind of warm sponge cake with liquid chocolate on top of it,... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
