We loved the atmosphere in this restaurant, which had a cosy pub feel to it. The menu offered a wide choice of viennese dishes, the food was delicious and good value for money and staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend.

We picked this restaurant due to proximity to our hotel. What a pleasant surprise. Food is good. We had ribs. The decoration is very unique as well.

Had a lovely Wiener schnitzel here for tea. Atmosphere good (waiters in lederhosen!) & friendly service. Prices reasonable. Would recommend.

We had no reservation on a Saturday evening at around 6 pm and that was definitively a mistake. However the steward (by the way: all dressed in Lederhosen) managed to provide us a reserved table for 90 minutes - really good. The food offered here is traditional Austrian/Viennese style. The food was good and one can say "good value for... More

We are a late lunch here on a cold and gloomy day. Started with the carpaccio which we shared, followed by 2 pork dishes with a sort of Austrian dumpling and 2 bottles of Riesling. We weren't rushed and the food was tasty. The waiters were wearing lederhosen....what's not to like! I would recommend sitting in the rear of the... More

I recently enjoyed dinner with friends at this restaurant. On this occasion we went for the Martinigansl. The food was really very good and the serving sizes were huge. The goose was tasty and had been cooked by someone who knows how to do it properly. The interior of the restaurant is heavily decorated and very interesting. The service was... More

We thought Purstner would be easy to find behind St. Stephen's Cathedral. It was a little more difficult, but really not that hard after we'd found it once. We were happy that it was not in the midst of the tourist crowds. We sat outside on a pleasant afternoon and had a great late lunch and beer. We had two... More

We came here for lunch as a couple. Good Austrian restaurant with great atmosphere inside and a wide range of food served with high quality and reasonable prices. We took two very good local soups and two mains with beer for a total of 36.80Eur. Careful to the dishes, not so small but rather filled!!! Worth a lunch break (but... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
