Good Italian, good price

I live next to this pizzaria. Normally i take a dinner there once a week and i never have been dissapointed of the food (usually i eat pizza) Friendly waiters and all in all a nice location. During summertime you have the possibility to eat in a wonderfull garden right in front of the restaurant.

Delicious food at reasonable prices in an italian style setting, From mid-spring to autumn you can sit outside in a small square in front of Piaristenchurch - if you are with kids they can run around in the square. The service is very friendly, quick and patient. In the evening a reservation is recommended, as it is well frequented and... More

One of the biggest advantages is the location of pizzeria, the square is very cozy and especially during the summer with flowers and white church behind. The staff is also very nice and friendly, pizza delicious same as in Italy :). But it's probably better to make a reservation, because in the evenings it is quite full and you have... More

IL Sestante is a value for good Italian food in a piazza style setting. The service is multi lingual and good humored and most important punctual. Only fly in the ointment is that they're cash only, would be five stars if they offered payment by credit card.

The night didn't start well because of the waiting list to sit, approx 20 mins, reasonable but a bit weird, given the large number of tables before the church. Owner's honest greed but he also helped out to sort out the situation, tidying up, so praise to him.. Let's focus onto the food: nice risotto alla milanese, frankly blasted by... More

One of the best pizzas I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Great environment and atmosphere. Location is very ideal, only around 5 minutes walk from the Rathuas.

The setting is perfect in good weather - outside in a small square in front of a beautiful church. The food is delicious - I've eaten here dozens of times in the past 15 years, and don't think I've ever left disappointed. The staff are usually very friendly, which is somewhat surprising for a restaurant that's consistently packed to the... More

This is amazing pizza. The locals know it and it is always packed - get a reservation in advance. It is lovely to eat outside if you can. The staff is wonderful and they use fresh and delicious ingredients.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
