Quick takeaway lunch

This is a tiny shop off the Naschmarkt which looks like it could be right in Tokyo. Japanese guys making the sushi in their tiny kitchen. People crowding in eating at the approx. 8 seats or standing in the way while waiting for their take out (like me). The food is excellent, fresh, great quality... read more

True. It is not a sushi shop in Tsukiji fish market in Japan, but the concept is very very close to that. Small diner near the market. Not really a restaurant. It is probably one of the best sushi places I visited recently. The place is very small, can host about 8 clients on a counter. So if you are... More

This was one of the best sushi we ever had in Europe. You can compare it with some great places in Dusseldorf where the Japanese community is very strong. The fish is very fresh (most important factor of good sushi). The place itself is very small, so in lunch time it is hard to find a place. They offer also... More

The place is tiny and easy to miss, but the food here in out of this world. I actually loved how tiny the place was as I thought it created a very cozy atmosphere. I will be back often now that I am in the know. This place is only open between 11am and 6pm, and tea is complementary. What... More

For years we were trying to find a good place to eat sushi and Japanese food in Vienna. By accident we ended up at Kojiro yesterday. If you watch carefully, most of the Japanese restaurants are operated by Chinese. In theory, there's nothing wrong with that as Chinese do great Japanese food - in China. But in Europe they generally... More

Atmosphere is great (few seats make it really private and autonomic), food is great, service is great (you can enjoy watching experts making your delicious dish) and you are even served tasty tea - on the house!

The sushi is good quality, and the prices are fair. It's really more of a sushi counter than a true restaurant (as others have noted). There are only a handful of spaces to sit and the chefs can get backed up if the place is busy...but it's certainly worth a look. Not a good place to go if you're with... More

For a taste of Japan not in Japan, this is definetly the place to go. Not much space, only really 3 tables and 8 seats, but the Sushi is the best I have had to date in the city!

Staying in Wieden

Neighborhood Profile
Wieden
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighborhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.
