Great value

We came across this restaurant by chance and were very glad we did. Great food, great service and a very reasonable price. If you're looking for something a little different to the Viennese cuisine, then try here, I think you'll enjoy it.

Worst restaurant ever! Rude waiter/s; burnt nachos; radler in the glass although advertised as radler in the bottle, once mentioned to the waiter he claimed no such thing existed, we showed him the menu and he told us, well he is not a magician. I would consider it a tourist trap since it is in the first district. Toilets are... More

As another reviewer already mentioned, packaged dishes served on a plate. The potato wedges are seriously out of a frozen plastic bag and warmed up in a microwave. The nachos, I wouldn't feed my dog. The cheese is either burnt or still in a solid state. The "bottled" beer is actually from the tap. The waiter is a complete jerk,... More

Why bother innovating with the cuisine of other countries if you cannot offer anything that does not come out of a bag, a can or a tub? Guacamole is not rocket science, just mashing a ripe avocado... If you fancy Salud's food save a lot of euros by buying packed nachos and salsa at the Hofer.

The whole thing was an average experience - food, service, atmosphere. The food was far from authentic and there was nothing noteworthy about the service either. The ambiance was pretty dull, however we got there early and left shortly, so perhaps it gets better in the late eve.

The place was completely empty as we went in so that should've been the first warning sign. Waiter didn't really talk much, a rather weak grasp of English and he wasn't too warm towards us as we made our requests. The food was rather bland and didn't really feel very authentic. Expensive to boot. Could definitely have used more flavor... More

Salud is an American style Mexican restaurant in the central district of Vienna. It serves traditional American Mexican food like enchilladas, burritos, and nachos. The design of the restaurant and the food itself seem to cater for American tastes so high fat and simple flavours predominate. Salud is well located, just inside the ring and very easy to find but... More

Walking toward Stephansplatz along Karntner Strasse, we crossed Johannesgasse which was the street where our dinner restaurant "Salud" is located. Thankfully, "Salud" was a very fine Tex-Mex restaurant. We were served soup, baby-back ribs, and its version of Sacher Torte. Many in our group agreed that the ribs were much better than the ribs at Friday's or Tony Roma's. My... More

Worth a visit, tasty food, good beer, decent service, decent venue. My friends wanted more spice on their food - I didn't mind.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
