Don't miss Kent , a Turkish restaurant, next time you visit Vienna

We have been visiting Vienna for almost a week. Tonight (December 24) we had dinner at Kent, a Turkish restaurant. We were there with our grandchildren and I saw children at some of the other tables as well. the restaurant is large and can handle small and large parties alike. I I have not had... read more

Enter the restaurant and go the the back, there is a nice garden and big rooms. You can't see them from the outside. The serve a big variety of turkish food with pictures and international menus. The stuff is superfast and friendly. Also nice for take away.

Was taken to this place by some Turkish friends for a nice treat with friends and family. It was a great idea. Not a stuck-up place so it was fun. They loaded me with lotsa Veg food options. And the carnivores with me were very happy with the akin-to-Indian taste of food. It was amongst the most inexpensive eat-outs for... More

We had a lovely dinner at the garden of the restaurant. We both a had a very good kebab, which was nothing like the fast food kebab at the street. It was well done with delicious garnishes, such as fresh salad, good dressing and rice. Their local wine was also very good and cheap. They did not have menu in... More

This old Turkish restaurant with cellar and huge garden has traditional Turkish foods which are delicious. Some of the wait staff's German language is limited, but all were friendly. Try to see the Brunnen Market (Brunnengasse) before or after.

Kent is a long established restaurant which offers a good variety of Turkish food. The menu is extensive and should more than cater for most tastes and budgets. Their mixed teller is worth ordering, with its good selection of delicious meats.

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
