Not to be missed

Rare were the times I went to a restaurant in Vienna and was served such a professional and friendly manner. The food left nothing to be desired to the best restaurants I have already been. Everything was excellent, with an honorable mention for the chocolate dessert.

Went last night- its a little out from the centre but well worth it. Lively old style R&B and sixties blues music provide good back ground. Waiter's suggestions on wines proved good advice Black pudding in ravioli crisp parcel great starter and veal steak very tasty as was halibut. Restaurant extremely 'sympa' a little old style deco but very modern... More

Been there last week! Start with the positv: Food (Salmontrout, Mozzarella, Vealshoulder, Halibut, Panna Cotta and Chocolate) cooked to perfection, nicely plated and very tasty! Our Waiter (Czech/Slovakian) was just great, very polite and pleasant! The chairs, old, but what a surprise, really comfy, also the tables have a nice size-thats always important! The negativ: old rugs on the floor,... More

I expected quite a lot from this restaurant by hearing from my colleagues but honestly it was not extraordinary. The food was ok but nothing special. I had the dumpling soup and then the Schnitzel and it tasted nice but that was it. Apart from that the atmosphere felt quite claustrophobic, with very little oxygen and a lot of noise.... More

Hands down THE best rib eye steak I've ever had. The whole experience was just amazing. Waiters were super friendly and very attentive. Every thing we had collectively was just delicious & the wines were great too. I would visit Vienna again just to go here again! A definitely thumbs up from me

It's a beautiful restaurant and the staff is very good but the food was simply mediocre. Nothing disastrous and we had a pleasant evening overall, but we were all commenting that the food could have been better. Nothing was great. Just blah. The fish was a little fishy smelling and the meat dishes were too fatty. Dessert was very good... More

We spent an enjoyable evening at Skopik & Lohn. It was a bit of a trek from our hotel (the Aldstadt - who had recommended the restaurant in a little booklet they give to guests), but it was worth it. The staff were extremely welcoming and we had great fun tasting several wines before finally choosing one. No stuffy nonsense... More

Very nice restaurant, the food was very tastfull and fresh, but the quality of the staff and the service they provide is really incredibly impressive! I've never experienced a higher professional service as I did here. Really great and special! However I have one request to the owner of this restaurant: Please provide your staff with nicer jackets then they... More

This is an old fashioned restaurant that serves delicious Austrian food. We were welcomed by the owner and looked after so well. He even told us the story behind the start of the place, the chairs (old fashioned but very sturdy and good) and gave us some tips about where to have food on Vienna. This is must visit place... Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
