I eat at dots once in a while because it's an appreciated spot for occasions. The place (Brunnerhof branch) has a posh interior, service is good, concept is nice. Dots is the first restaurant chain in Vienna which tried the experimental sushi. On my recent visit I was quite unimpressed by my choice: crispy sake maki. Fish skin crunches in... More

Visited Dots at the end of February again after a long time, and was completely satisfied. It was a Saturday, we called the Restaurant around noon and asked whether they had a table for 4 persons at 20:00, which was no problem at all. By the entrance of the restaurant there is a cloackroom, where a friendly young lady took... More

This place is located right in the city centre, in a pedestrian area. The restaurant is very fancy and the atmosphere is very nice and relaxing, perfect for enjoying some good sushi. The food was really good and tasty, by the way. I would recommend it but the price is a bit high

Good quality japanise cuisine... a little bit expensive. Indicated for a special occasion, rather than an informal lunch/dinner. The music is too loud making difficult to talk with your friends!

The restaurant is modern and well-furnished, the waiters were friendly. The place self is a bit dark but it didn't make the delicious sushi any worse. Great restaurant, surely one to recommend.

We were lucky to get a last minute reservation at Dots. We walked in and immediately loved the lounge/night club esque atmosphere. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. We had a wonderful Chardonnay and let the waiter craft us our own sushi platter. We thought he understood the gluten-free concept, but I suppose... More

Living for sometime in Vienna I had to try the restaurant that many of my friends are crazy about. The place is cool, the concept really nice, but not for everyone. Music is loud, but thats not a problem for me, the service was very good. One of the only places the waiter realizing that eventhough I was sitting in a... More

Really good but unusual - not very authentic Japanese maybe but for European taste the sushi is very good ;-) I have only been here at lunch time when it's quite empty but I assume it must be nice for dinner too.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
