So porn, it is fantastic

This place is soooo much fun. Great decor but not for the shy (the loos are fully mirrored, as are the tables). Delicious takes on brasserie staples. Cool staff. We went three times on our weekend to Vienna.

Delicious food. Exquisite. Good wine card. Beautiful locale. Good service. Can come with kids but not sure it's their scene.. Rather motto on the boat at Schwedenplz if with kids. This one is more for romantic and parties dinners. Truly great atmosphere. Would go again. (went 3 times already).

We had a really nice weekedn in Vienna. A friend recommended this restaurant and we decided to go there. It was a great choice. The decoration is trendy, the service is great and the food wonderful. A place to go and have dinner or a drink!

We were recommended to this bar-restaurant during our stay in Vienna. The kitchen is open late, which served us perfect to go after an opera performance. Our waiter was extremely attentive and made certain recommendations which turned out to be the best. The suggested Cabernet Sauvignon was superb. The steak tartar was wonderful, the filet with chocolate chilli sauce was... More

Their website booking was impossible if you couldn't read German and/or using a mobilephone. When you get to the restaurant address, if using Google maps, the actual entrance is tucked away around the corner off Rudigergasse with only a small sign. Inside, the decor is luxury quirkiness with mood lighting, dark purple walls with baby dolls (!?) and infinity mirrored... More

Great atmosphere, superfunny waiters, good music in the speakers and the tournedau with chili-chocolate sauce was to die for!! And smoke free!! All you need in a restaurant. Medium prices, well worth it.

Very good food, cool atmosphere, excellent service, very good wine choices. Motto (as opposed to Motto am Fluss- which is not nearly as good) has it all.

This review is about the original Motto (5th district) . Being from Austria I used to go there something like 17years ago. I went back on the 3rd of January 2015 after 17years and the food is just as beautiful as it was. Atmosphere is nice and cosy and great for a gathering with friends -not too casual -. Try... More

Not forgetting the varied, well presented and tasty meals. This place has superb stylish decor and a great bar/ restaurant vibe. Quite hard to spot as the signage is quite hidden. Food is very varied and some of the cocktails novel, but really tasty. Gin and Basil smash to be recommended, as is the Christmas special with pomegranate, prosecco and... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
