While in Vienna decided to check on this Irish pub as neither of us spoke German. It is a real Irish pub with Irish people working there. Darren, the bar man we met the first day looked after us very well and was welcoming, and chatty. A few days later we called in again and he was very impressive in... More

I went to see a football game with a friend. We came half an hour early to have time for dinner before the match. The place was packed as always, so we opted for sitting outside for dinner and getting back in for the match. We ordered food and drinks. Drinks arrived within reasonable time, food after 1:18 hours. That's... More

Went here for the All Blacks Georgia game. Was a great atmosphere, but really busy and hard to find a table (come early). Didn't have a meal but the prices looked reasonable. Seemed to be incredibly popular with tourists (namely Kiwi's, Aussies, Brits).

We called in here to watch a football game and decided to eat first. What a mistake; tasteless fish and chips and shepherds pie. The place needs a good clean. The staff were nice and friendly.

The atmosphere was great as there were a lot of people. Maybe the pub doesn't look nice (scratched walls etc) but in this case undoubtedly people make the pub:) It was pleasant to sit there in the Sunday evening in the crowd of people.

So we where travelling around Europe and as you do we decide to call into some Irish bars. Note there not really many Irish Bars owned around Europe and really are tourist traps with exception to a few places we went. Its hard to rate Flanagans's because firstly the staff were not really pleasent and welcoming. We went there to... More

We are in the middle of a 4 day visit to Vienna and have been into this bar both days for midday drinks and evening meals. The menu is excellent and very reasonably priced. The food is of a very high quality. Service is good and the staff are friendly. Also GAA is on TV here.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
