Pleasant surprise.

Good lunch menu, quick and efficient service right off Mariahilfer shopping district. Fresh fish and good sushi for a country nowhere near the ocean.

We went there with my brother. I ordered a lot of sushi( my favorite is avocado sushi, I think mono sushi has the best abaca do sushi I've ever tried) gyoza(dumplings with meat and veggies(oooooh✨) ramen( my brother liked the noodles, but for me it wasn't THAT good, but delicious) and parapapaaam ROSTED TERIYAKI DUCK! Oh it was so tender... More

Mono offers one of the best Sushi experiences in Vienna. The quality of the food is very good (try the marinated mackerel!), the ambience is plain but friendly and prices are very reasonable. So if you are just looking for good food without fancy packaging, go for it!

Several things were not up to my taste. Restaurant does not provide an impression of being that much clean. Furthermore, old tiles, curtains, tables and chairs add to entire bad feeling. Secondly, I asked for recommendation regarding dishes, I emphasized to the waiter that spicy meals are not something that I particularly prefer, whereas I've got a dish which literarily... More

I highly recommed the sushi bar Mono located on Schottenfeldergasse 5 in the Vienna's seventh distict. I have been a customer for years and in my opinion they have the best fish of all of sushi bars Vienna for a highly decent price. I don't know where the fish comes from, but it is always fresh and pristine. I have... More

My absolute favourite Sushi place. I have been there many times. Nice, small place, good athmosphere, the quality of the fish is amazing, I strongly recommend Chirashi Sushi and the Family Sushi (Nigiri and Maki for 2 or 4 persons). It is a family business, the staff is very friendly,

My Curryrice is heavenly and my partner is very happy with her sake sushi. Sadly, they don't Agedashi Tofu, Edamame nor Inari Sushi, our favourite dishes.

This was not the first time I was in this place. Actually, it is one of my favourites when in Vienna. The food is really good! However, EVERY time I was there, the elderly lady working there (the owner) was SO hostile as if she fed me for free. Today I was there with a friend. First we waited for... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
