This totally unpretentious one Michelin Star restaurant is small, cozy and a friendly place. The food is very good and also the service. I ate a tasteful Vienner Schnitzel and my husband a steak. Don't miss the schnaps drink. It's a local eau de vie and the Mirabelle is very special. They offer a great variety of them. And the... More

Dinner for two, we came unannounced and early (19:00) -but you should probably make reservations. The restaurant offers the best service, wine recommendations were perfect and the food (chicken+lamb) was delightful. Great athmosphere as well. I will definitely go again!

Contrary to our expectation we were very disappointed with the food quality. The first course was a very oversalted green lettuce salad which we sent back as it was inedible, The replacement was only slightly less salty and there was no proper apology. The main course of duck breast was very ordinary and so were the accompaniments.

Unquestionably the place to eat in Vienna. This Michelin starred restaurant lived up to and surpassed our expectations. It's a lovely, small restaurant on a quiet side street. Beautiful interior. The owner was in residence the night we ate there and was very helpful with both food and wine selections. You can tell he really cares about every detail of... More

Although small, this charming place was quiet on an evening in July. We had the degustation menu with paired wines and were delighted. The food and wines were great and well matched. The servers were professional, yet very personable and informative. The place certainly merits it's Michelin star and then some.

We had already eaten in one of,the finest restaurants in vienna before we dined here. Frankly, I enjoyed this meal more. Every dish was delicious and classically prepared. The ambience is,lovely and the staff most professional. The prices are very fair for this city which is expensive. I highly recommend this restaurant .

Small, intimate restaurant. Great service and food. Wonderful ambiance (like being in a small, highly elite dinner club). Clientele seemed more local/official versus touristy (diplomats, government officials, business men and women). Great way to start a trip in Vienna.

This is one of the best value Michelin Star restaurants I’ve been to over the years. We always stay in this area of the city, so called around at lunchtime to book for the evening. It’s an old style restaurant, which is not surprising as it’s been on the go for some time, however the cooking is contemporary in style.... More

Bauer is one of the "old faithful restaurants" in Vienna. The menu consists of mainly Viennese specialties that are cooked to perfection. The wine list is among the top in Vienna and we never fail to discover something special. The atmosphere is cozy and the service friendly. Makes for a great dinner experience (or a very long business lunch!).
