AMAZING - worth travelling 17,841km!!

From the moment we walked through the door we knew we were in a special place. The restaurant is divided into 'pods' with 8-10 tables in each 'pod' so we felt in an intimate environment. We selected the tasting menu - my favourite was Celeriac & peas, whist my husband's was Venison. From the Amuse... read more

We went here for breakfast on my birthday. We hadn't reserved as I did not know it would be so busy in the morning on a weekday, so we had to wait for about an hour, however the waitress was quite attentive during the wait and served us some tea whilst offering to let us eat at the bar area.... We try to go here each trip to Vienna. It's Michelin stars are well deserved. Save up an afternoon or evening and and a very hungry belly and go for the full tasting menu WITH the wine pairings. Each course is deceiving dainty and exceedingly phenomenal. New techniques are paired with old resulting in each course being a work of... More

The layout of the restaurant is simply great. It feels like you have your own private alcove. Great for romantic dinners. Quiet and serene. Absolutely the most inventive cooking we found in Vienna. Every item was perfectly prepared, tasty, original and fun. On top of all a great wine list. Service was impeccable.

Yesterday we were enjoying a fabulous business dinner at Austria's leading Restaurant. Apart from fantastic food and impeccable service we truly appreciated the tongue-in-cheek "greetings from the kitchen" before and after the meal for their unprecedented mockery of the prevalent EU nonsense of identifying all possible allergenic substances in our foods and their ingredients. Simply grand and unforgettable - apart... More

We have been in Vienna for many times and this time we wanted to go also to Steirerek Restaurant as we have read is one of the best in town. Here the staff was very nice and the location also different, close to the park. Regarding the food, they have agreed to change my plate without an extra cost, as... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
