We had an excellent lunch at Steirereck. From the moment we entered to the moment we left the experience was flawless. We had the degustation menu with matched wines ( and one beer!). It was well balanced, interesting and delicious. The wine was perfectly suited to the food. As for the bread trolley - we both loved the idea of... More

Look past the grumpy somm and the young wine list and draw on the amazing space, the positive energy from the rest of the crew and one of the best meals you can find anywhere. His use of ingredients indigenous to far away cultures and the little explanations you get with each course make an evening of special dining into... More

This review is based on our experiences dinning at other Michelin Star restaurants world wide. We choose Steirereck as a lunch spot for our last day in Vienna. We had dined at Edvard earlier in the week and were greatly disappointed, so I bring great joy in providing a very positive review for Steirereck. My husband & I chose to... More

Strange title, but it was all down to my main course - I chose the Weiner schnitzel expecting something special from the 16th rated restaurant in the world and got a Weiner Schnitzel - half my fault for choosing it, but it was on the menu. It was quite ordinary and in fact, slightly tough. I am all for national... More

We had the opportunity to dine at 7 Michelin restaurants during our vacation these past two weeks, and at Restaurant Steirereck at Stadtpark (2 Michelin) we enjoyed a delightful delicious fun four course lunch. They presented us with 6 amuse-bouche before the courses started. They mix the cocktails at your table in mason jars, and you can select bread from... More

First of all, Steirereck is not really my kind of restaurant. That's reflective of me though - not the restaurant. I rarely sit down to a meal that includes Daylilies, Tubers, Castelfranco with Pine Tips and Physalis. All that said, what a neat experience. The food was fantastic as was the service. Steirereck's location in the park is also unique.... More

I have dined here prior to the renovation a few years ago and still remember what I had and how great it was. I eat at michelin starred restaurants at least 20x a year. This was one of the worst experience! Interior: the design is friendly and modern, and the tables are well enough separated to provide some good privacy.... More

The restaurant is located in the middle of the beautiful park, which is not a safe place in the evening. So make sure you ask the waiter what is the quickest escape from the place after your dinner. Booking the place was a bit strange - I had to ensure it was the exact time - this was the instruction... More

Super stellar restaurant with beautiful looking food and lots of tastes and textures for the foodie. Good service and. Attentive without being pretentious. Had the degustation menu and great choices. Nobu style. Expensive but one of the best.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
