If I would've given his review a few years ago, I would've clearly given Figlmueller a 5 rating. Unfortunately a few things have changed, which I hope is not due to a decline in quality of the restaurant, which in my view as an Austrian, pops out the best schnitzels in town (contested comment; I know). The schnitzel I had... More

This is a very nice place for a real (and huge) Wiener Schnitzel. Quality of the food was good (even though the breading on the Schnitzel was a little on the soft side) and portions were generous. No beer just win (and water, etc. of course) but this is the real way to go anyhow. It is located right in... More

They do not serve beer, just wine (for alcohol) but it's hard to find so stop and ask or look on a map (so worth it).

This place is famous for their schnitzel. It is pork shnitzel and it is as big as a dinner plate. It was quite good. The other food was also good. The atmosphere is unique, old brick walls with arches, smaller spaces for groups and very quaint. It was a fun place bit very busy and a bit touristy.

We read about this place upon arrival in Vienna. We didn't have a reservation but we were only in Vienna for one night so though we'd try our luck here. We arrived just before 6pm and it was already busy. We were seated at a large table with 2 other people which seemed to be the norm (don't come here... More

First, do not come here without a reservation. We had stopped in earlier in the day to make one and our table was close enough to the door to see the steady stream of people turned away because they had not booked in advance. Now, the food. Schnitzel was delicious, pounded very thin so it looks huge on the plate... More

I have been here only for the schnitzel, I must confess. This place was highly recomended for this typical vienese dish, that why we couldn't have given it a try and it was worth it. We did not wait so much, but we went on monday, but if you want to go during the we you must book a table... More

The Figlmueller empire is impressive - already they have the Wollzeile location, Backerstrasse, and now a new storefront at Lugeck not to mention Figls (our favorite) in Grinzing. We ate at Figlmueller on Wollzeile recently just for a change of pace and while the food is delicious it wasn't my favorite atmosphere. We came on a Sunday afternoon - called... More

If you want a nice (and enormous) schnitzel in a rustic restaurant with no hooha or extras then come here. If you want a schnitzel with all sorts of decorative stuff on the side then don't. I can see why some people have said there's nothing special about this place- it is very basic. But I think it's good. I... More

My friend who lives in Vienna, recommended this place. I had great time there. Awesome schnitzel! They don't serve beer but they have pretty good Austrian wines.
